ONE LETTER CHRISTIN LOVELL
Posted: July 31, 2013
It started with one letter.
Kellie Patrick sent one letter into the Middle East, to any soldier. Sergeant Daniel Rodriguez was the one who received it.
Three years and eighty-six letters later, Daniel is ready to meet the woman who got him through his last three tours of duty.
Three years and eighty-six letters later, plus size Kellie is nervous to meet the man who wrote his way into her heart. Could a sexy as sin soldier really want forever with a curvy Southern gal like her though?
MY REVIEW:
Kellie Patrick and Sergeant Daniel Rodriguez became pin pals if that is what you would like to call them for a lack of a better term. Daniel was a soldier in the Middle East. Kellie a young beautiful full figure woman who had just lost her job. She had free time and decided to volunteer to write letters to our soldiers who could use some cheering up while in a war zone. She didn’t want her letter to be the same old thing so she was able to be her joking self and she sent homemade goodies and pictures of her hometown. She was surprised when Daniel answered her back and complemented her on the wonderful goodies, telling her how he had to fight the platoon off from taking them all. So she and her friend Hannah made a whole lot more, enough for whole platoon with each letter she sent him back. They continue to write through good times and bad, friends, and foes. Come see where this relationship goes. This is a very short story not a whole lot of character development but still a sweet story. Gave it a three star. Cover A+

MY REVIEW:
Losing Hope is the follow up to Hopelesss. This story is written
from Dean Holder’s perspective. Dean has
been torn up for 13 years, along with his sister Les (Leslie). You see when they were all three children
were 5 years old Hope (aka Sky) was take from their lives by a stranger right
before Dean’s (aka Holder) eyes. Holder
has searched every face he has ever seen, every day of his life for the past 13
years, all these years looking for the girl he loved and let get away. He has been eaten up ever since it had
happened never really understanding he was only 5 years old and powerless. That day changed everyone’s life around him
forever. Then one day at the grocery
store, boom, it can’t be true, can it?
Can it really be her? His heart
is beating so loud that he feels everyone in the store can hear it. He has to follow her to the parking lot to
talk with her… I have to say be for this
point in the story I was starting to feel that this story was very depressing
and sad and that I just might not be able to finish it. I am so glad I did. The twists and turns some of which I knew
were coming others not at all. Wow, I am
ready for a non-thinking book now though.
A very good book that I am glad I decided to finish and I highly
recommend. Warning though this is not a
book for a teen. As a parent of a 12 ½ year
old (would kill me if I did not put the ½) and 3 grown children and 1
grandchild (young 53, thank-you very much, lol.) The subject matter in this
storyline is a little heavy emotionally for anyone I feel under the age of 18
without the parent reading it first so that the parent and child can discuss
afterward. Book provided by NetGalley.
