VERONICA BLADE TODAY! TODAY! TODAY!

We are so happy to have with us tonight veronica blade

*Rad-Reader:  What are the first 3 words that come to mind when you think of your newest book? * Epic. Angst. Romance.

*Rad-Reader:  What would your newest lead character like about themselves? * My latest release is My Wolf’s Bane and the lead character is Autumn Rossi. Although Autumn is popular in school, she’s a little insecure. Perhaps that’s due to starting a new school every time her parents decide to move, which is often. Or maybe it’s because she’s realizing she’s not human. This tends to make teen girls feel a little “different.”

Even feeling like a bit of an outcast, Autumn always stands up for what she believes in, even if she’s scared. I think that’s probably what she would like best about herself — that she doesn’t back down and she’ll never regret not following her heart.

*Rad-Reader: Let me just say I love Alex, I love strong female characters and that this is a young girl that champions for others makes it a more empowering and powerful story. * I loved that about her, too. I think everyone, young or old, has been bullied at some point in their lives and we all would’ve loved to have been like Alex and stand up for ourselves, as well as others.

*Rad-Reader:  What books influenced your writing style do you think?  Why? * Twilight was the first YA book I’d ever read and I loved how Stephenie Meyer drew out the romance. It totally hooked me and now YA is mainly what I read and write.

*Rad-Reader:  Are any of your characters based on any real people from your life.  If so in what ways? * Haha. No way. All my characters are 100% from my head. This way, I won’t be questioned by the real life person when the character does something stupid. Or worse, dies LOL

*Rad-Reader:  Out of your books do you have a favorite character?  And why? * They are all my favorite characters, to be honest. But I do have a special soft spot for Hayden of Something Witchy This Way Comes. I love that he’s so damaged, yet he desperately tries to be better. He makes messes, but his heart is in the right place.

*Rad-Reader:  There are a lot of books turned into movies any you can think of you like the movie better than the book? * Twilight. The book drove me a little crazy because it was so wordy. I’m not one who enjoys a lot of descriptions — I just want to know what happens next. I loved the book, but I love loved the movie. Also, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. I only got through about 100 pages, because it took too long to get to the romance and I gave up. But I freaking loved the movie!

*Rad-Reader:  Any authors that you have seen lately that they have just grabbed your attention? * Bria Quinlan (Wreckless), Piper Shelly (Play With Me) and Jamie McGuire (Beautiful Disaster) and Susan Hatler (Truth or Date).

*Rad-Reader:  Do you write under a pen name?  Why? * Yes, because when I google my real name, somehow my home address shows up, which is quite creepy.

*Rad-Reader:  Any Pets or pet peeves? LOL * Thank you for making it plural because I have more than one! (1) Everyone wants the world to be a better and safer place, but I wish more people would DO something about it. Rather than complain, I’d love to see everyone roll up their sleeves and be a positive influence (2) When someone puts all the blame on someone else and takes none of it for him/herself, they are doing themselves a huge disservice. Those people are saying they’re weak, a victim. I wish they’d say, “Yeah, I screwed up. Next time, I’ll do better.” Or “Yeah, I caused that. Pretty effective, aren’t I?”

Rad-Reader:  If you could be one of your characters for one day, which one would you be & why? * Tessa or Laynie. Then I would be age appropriate to date Hayden or Josh. I'd love myself a bad boy. J Rad-Reader: Laynie for me, because Josh is the prize, winner takes all. But I love Alex because she is a hero to all, she cares. * Exactly.

Rad-Reader:  What are you working on now? * I’m getting ready for the release of Wolves at the Door (sequel to My Wolf’s Bane) but I’m currently doing revisions for the prequel, Throw to the Wolves: The Legend of Hannah & Eli. Both will be releasing at the end of 2013 and early 2014.

Rad-Reader:  Do you read reviews and do they affect your day either way good or bad? * I know there will be people out there who don’t care for my books. Even the biggest names out there, like Nora Roberts and Stephenie Meyer, get bad reviews. It’s just part of the biz. The reviews only annoy me when give an incorrect impression of my book.

Rad-Reader:  Now one of the reasons we asked for this interview was because Single~Minded out of all the books we have listed on our blog has had the most hits over all since June 19th of 2013, 82 hits.  If it were made into a movie who could you see playing the leads for Laynie and Josh?  Rad-Reader: Molly C. Quinn from Castle & Colton Haynes from Twilight. * I like your choices! I love Colton Haynes! I think Holland Roden (Teen Wolf) might also do great as Laynie, or Emma Stone.

Rad-Reader:  How many books do you have out?  What is your newest book that is out? * I have two full length YA romances, three novellas and the three Single Girls short stories = 8. My most recent release is My Wolf’s Bane.

Rad-Reader:   How do you chose your titles for your books? * Very painfully! I spend a lot of time agonizing over the various choices.

Rad-Reader:  Give me a name of a song that plays in your head when you think of your new book… * The music that plays in the book trailer. I picked that song for a reason and now, in my mind, it’s permanently stuck to this series. Give it a listen: http://youtu.be/GEXgVD1NblU

Rad-Reader:  What advice would you give your young self now? * Don’t care what other people think. Those who judge you don’t matter and those who matter don’t judge you.

Rad-Reader:  Where can we reach you? * veronica@veronicablade.com

What Child Is This by C.J. Carmichael What Child Is This – A Frost Family Christmas Novella

Frost Farm owner, Garret Frost, and his Public Relations Manager, Lily Parker, each have their own reasons for dreading Christmas this year. Garret’s a widower, stressed with the responsibility of running the family’s maple syrup business while raising his young son on his own. And Lily’s still trying to recover from the tragic loss that ended her marriage.

Adding to their personal challenges, Garret’s adorable son Duncan has just told Santa that all he wants for the holidays is to visit the North Pole. How’s Garret going to manage that? And then an abandoned baby is found in the manger of the nativity scene beside the Sugar Shack...

Just as it seems like the holiday will be a total bust, an almost-kiss under the mistletoe has Garret looking at Lily in a whole new way. Despite all the holiday mayhem, could this end up being the best Christmas ever?

“What Child Is This" is Book One of "A Frost Family Christmas" trilogy. Each novella is a complete romance with a linking mystery connecting the three books.
The next two books are:

Home For Christmas, by Roxy Boroughs
The Holly and The Ivy by Brenda Collins

MY REVIEW:

What Child Is This, Garret Frost is a Widower at 34 with a 5 year old son, Duncan.    Garret’s family owns and operates Frost Farm Old Sugar Shack, in Vermont, making maple syrup.

His parents Sylvia and Harold are on the retirement end of the business that was pasted down from his grandfather.  His brother Jimmy and sister Josephine don’t really want any part of the farming of the maple trees.  But it has been all that Garret has loved since he was a kid.  Know they were going to be retiring and Garret would be needing help Sylvia found someone to help Garret help, a public relations person, Lily Parker from New York.

Lily is 30 years old and divorced and she is a workaholic.  But really she is keeping a secret that is very painful to her and it is something that is tearing her apart.  She feels that if she shares it, it will be her undoing.  She likes to blend in and be by herself and in this small town that is just a little hard to do.  Now with Garret starting to notice her and giving her mixed signals now what should she do?

Come with this family and this couple and find out what this holiday season has in store for them.  It is one fast read but a fun read.  Curl up with a cup of coco and a warm blanket and read about a sweet couple.
