An 11,000 word romance sequel featuring a curvy, sharp-minded beauty and the alpha male rockstar who will do anything to protect her.

MY REVIEW:

This is the third story “More Than A Feeling” I got from the Rockstar Romance Box Set that was offered on Netgalley.com that I know was offered on Amazon also, free or 99 cents at one time so keep your eyes peeled.
Now for the Review:

Wow, can I just say I love the way this author writes.  She yes has erotica in it, which by the way is not a lot in this one.  Hot I do have to say when she does right it, but if she took it out her books would still be good if they were just longer.  More action, description, and emotion in these 35 pages then a lot of authors put in 800.  Which I totally loved.

I have to say though her erotic scenes are not bad they do hit the mark but not over the top. This story however was my favorite so far for its descriptive qualities of emotions and action. The way Amy describes what she is feeling when Rick runs out of the van and into the warehouse is just amazing.  The unknown twist and turns were excellent too.  For 35 pages this author can keep you totally engaged in each of her characters thoughts and emotions.
I know a lot are having a problem with the way they are coming out and the pricing applied so she may want to rethink that but I’m sure if you keep checking you will find that Amazon will either have the books themselves or the box set of the Rockstar Romances either free or for 99 cents again.  I paid 99 cents for this third book because I couldn’t wait to see what happened.  Now the 4th is due out any day.  This book is also a cliffhanger.

Run to You by Clare Cole  Six months after rock superstar Rick Borrell swept her off her feet, Amy Reid’s life has been turned upside down. Rick’s solo album has been a huge success and Amy finds herself accompanying him to the Grammy Awards, where her sexy curves catch everyone’s attention.

Behind the scenes, though, a bandmate and his devious brother have plans to scupper Rick’s solo career at any cost, putting Amy in grave danger that Rick must race to save her from…

MY REVIEW:

This is the second story “Run To You” I got from the Rockstar Romance Box Set that was offered on Netgalley.com that I know was offered on Amazon also, free or 99 cents at one time so keep your eyes peeled.
Now for the Review:

Hold on to your hats the erotica in this one is intense.  But, there are only a few scenes but they are steaming hot.  The love and respect these two have for one another as a couple does shine through and that makes it a whole lot easier to get through or skim over in some cases.

The story part of it is a really good continuation of the first story “New Sensations,” with Amy Reid and Rick Borrell.  Their relationship becomes much more intense as his or really both of their careers has taken off.

Not only that this book also includes Luke his son, Julia Luke’s mom, and Julia’s husband Michael.  Now that his new album has made it he has to deal with his band.  They are not happy especially since he has just won a Grammy for the solo album.  You will not believe the lengths they will go to, to let him know just how unhappy they really are.

Julia’s talk with Amy while Rick and she were visiting the family at their home about helping Rick stay out and away from the band members scares her and puts her on alert.  Not to mention that while watching Luke, Michael & Rick play in the yard she can’t help notice that Luke looks nothing like Julia for being his mother, why is that?  You may have to wait until the 3rd or 4th book to find out.  There is a wild cliffhanger but it is so good I am paying the 99 cents to find out what happens I can’t wait.

MY REVIEW:

First off this first story “New Sensation” I got from the Rockstar Romance Box Set that was offered on Netgalley.com that I know was offered on Amazon also, free at one time so keep your eyes peeled.

     Now for the Review:

Amy Reid was a photographer by trade self-taught since childhood you could say.  Her father had a love for it so he naturally taught her what he knew but she just had this natural raw talent.  He allowed her self-expression and to do her own developing at home.  Opening a whole new world to her always.  Seeing the world and people through the eyes of a child which gave her an edge to see the true subject when she took this shots.

Now full grown and twenty nine in London with a job she hates.  The economy is tanking and so are her finances.  The music magazine that she is working for is doing cut backs so they have her not only doing the photo shoots but the writing of the articles too.  Which she hates.  This is where she meets international lead singer for “Beautiful Loser,” Rick Borrell.

She is on this photo shoot interview and there was an instant attraction and connection to Rick.  Right away he was complementing her on some of the pictures she had taken for another band for a layout. They talked about each other’s cologne and perfume and so much more.  She was unsure if this was just his Rocker persona or a way to make the “Fat Chick” feel good. When she said something to his reference of him throwing her over his shoulder and carrying her away, she stopped him and said,

EXCERPT:

“Throw me over your shoulder, eh?  I’m a little too big for that.  I might give you a slipped disc.  You wouldn’t be able to stand or   do anything for six months and you’d hate me forever.”

“Well, now, just stop there for a moment.”

I lower my camera and looked at him, his expression changing to one of curiosity.

“Firstly, I don’t want to be responsible for doing anything that could make me hate you forever.  Not when our obvious love affair has only just begun.”

I smiled nervously and pushed a loose strand of my long red hair behind my ear.

“Secondly, don’t you make any of those silly comments about yourself.  If you don’t know how gorgeous you are, then I’m going to have to be the one to tell you.  Corny, I know, but I like a woman to look like one, not like a matchstick.”

I was floored, but also slightly suspicious.  Was he just being kind?  “Thanks,” I replied.  “But you don’t need to flatter me.  You must have gorgeous women throwing themselves at you day in and day out.”

He crossed his legs, put his hands in his pockets and looked straight at me.  God, those eyes were beautiful.  “I was reading a magazine on the plane over here – Esquire, I think it was.  They had one of those polls they do every year, ‘Sexiest Woman in the World’ or something.  You know who won?”

I shook my head.

“Christina Hendricks.  You know, the actress with loads of cleavage and a figure that Hollywood likes to describe as ‘curvy’?  And I agree.  In fact, the results weren’t even close.  She annihilated the rest of the competition.  If it wasn’t for her, Mad Men would have no sexiness in it whatsoever.”

I started taking photographs again, partly because I needed more and partly so I could hide once again beind the lens, taking the focus off me.  “That’s kind, but I’m no Christina Hendricks.”

“Whoa there,” he said, walking forward grabbing the front of my camera.  He gently lowered it and spoke to me softly, the smell of the Hugo Boss aftershave now just inches from my nostrils, causing a million tiny butterflies to dance around my stomach.  “What would make you think that?  You have an amazing body, gorgeous red hair, and you’re absolutely beautiful.  It’s taken everything in my power not to plant a kiss on those full, soft, red lips of yours.”
End of excerpt

Now ladies & gents that is the basis of the whole book series.  If you missed this part then you are not going to get this series at all.  This is a love story but with erotica.  So, if you would like to see how this romance begins then you can go on and start here.  You need to know this author brakes her series up into shorts of about 35 pages.  But after this first one I was hooked on this couple the second one was better and the third one forget about it.  I just can’t wait for the fourth.

ONCE UPON A WINTER'S HEART

ONCE UPON A WINTER'S HEART          MELODY CARLSON
Posted:  Nov. 24, 2013

Once Upon a Winter's Heart by Melody Carlson  Emma Burcelli has suffered over a decade of dating disasters. But she concludes that love is officially dead when her grandfather Poppi suddenly passes, leaving her grandmother Nona devastated. To help out, Emma works in the family bookstore, which Nona insists must be decked out in sweetheart décor as Poppi would have done for Valentine's Day. Although she feels like a V-Day Scrooge, Emma quickly learns to enjoy the task with the help of a handsome family friend, Lane Forester, who shows her that hanging hearts is much more fun when done to the tune of Dean Martin. As Emma and Lane share time and memories of Poppi, she reconsiders the notion that romance is alive.

Just as Emma's heart begins to lift, however, she learns her sister has already staked a claim on Lane. Emma's mother and sister insist Lane only sees her as a future sister-in-law, but she can't help wondering if it could be something more.

MY REVIEW:

Nona and Poppi had a marriage and a romance of love that was beyond anything that could be written about in a book or a movie.  More than anything that Emma could ever imagine or had ever know.  Even her own parents slept in separate rooms for goodness sakes.  So, for her Nona and Poppi were the role models to follow.  When one day at the apartment she shared with a roommate she went to college with, where she was getting her masters in Seattle that her grandfather, Poppi, had died.

That brought life into focus for Emma.  One, she knew the last of the Romantics and romance itself had just died.  Two that she needed not only leave school but the boring job that she hadn’t liked for the two years she had worked there.  Third and most important one of all that she needed to go home to the only real place that made her feel welcomed and safe.  She needed to go home to Nona.  She wanted to be with her, care for her, help her, love her, and comfort her the way Poppi and Nona did for her when she and her sister Anna were in need.  She cared for them when her parents were too busy with their careers to notice them.

Her life back home is not what she is expecting when she gets there.  Her parents issues are larger than life, her sister has grown two heads, which really isn’t nothing new but now she is a mother and an ex-wife and she can’t get a straight answer as to why she left her ex, her sweet nephew is more adorable than ever but missing his dad who now lives in Florida and is missing Poppi terribly.

Enter the mystery man from the funeral that seemed to know her Poppi pretty well when he got up to speak considering he said they just met 3 years ago.  He is kinda cute no let’s change that she thinks he’s hot but there’s one small problem she’s been told hands off he belongs to her sister.  But, wait her mother says yes hands off but they are not official yet he is just ear marked until the official year of mourning a marriage is over so it looks proper after the divorce.  Wow, has she gone crazy or her family.

Come see how this unfolds you won’t regret it.  I loved this story for the simple reason that hey guess what NO SEX WHATSOEVER IN THE BOOK AT ALL!!!  Just plain old everyday romance.  Very good writing that keeps you interested in these characters and what is going on.  Bravo!
