Talkin’ Sports
With Pat

1.)  The other day there was a story of a female basketball player for Division III Mount St. Joseph.  The NCAA allowed the two schools to move up the game two weeks because she has only months to live.  She has an inoperable brain cancer.  They had to move the game to a larger place, Xavier University which seats 10,000, normally Mount has 100 people show up for their games, that night they sold out 10,000 seats.
Lauren Hill not only started the game 17 seconds into the game, the coach did not tell her, they stopped the game both teams gave her a standing ovation and they gave her the game ball.  Because of headaches and medicine she takes which cause nausea she wore pink sunglasses and sat on the bench with her team for the rest of the game as they won.  The employees of Xavier University volunteered their time & the university offered the use of the arena. A great story.

2.)  Who would have thought that at this point in the football season that the Phoenix Cardinals would have the best record in football?  By the way Super Bowl this year is in Phoenix.

3.)  There is nothing wrong with Lebron James, they have only played four games, and it is just good talk radio right now.

  1. On sports talk radio and on T.V. the talk for the most part is all the same. There must be something wrong with Lebron James, now i will say that by him losing 20 pounds will be a difference to his inside game, but i don't think that will effect the talent that a person has. For example last nights game he scored 31 points had 3 rebounds and 4 ass. Now K. Irving, playing point guard 34 points 1 rebound 0 ass. The other starting guard Marion 0 ass and 0 points. K. Love had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 1 ass. James lead the team in assists. They are not playing as a team. that is what is going on.

  2. sorry folks my inter- net went down. back up and running. That was really a bad break for Laquon Treadwell, the football player from Ole Miss. Who broke his tibia and dis-located his ankle all on the same play. i felt bad for him and not really the way i want to remember his injury after a well played game. even though at first i thought he crossed the end zone. i was wrong. hopefully he can make it bake to play next year he was a good player, just sorry that the game ended with his injury.

Andrew Friedman, today they hired Farhan Zaidi, to be their GM. Don't know the name he has been the ass. GM to Billy Beene, in Oakland for the last 10 years. big changes for the Dodgers at least they are going in the right direction

  4. i still can't get over Tony Romo's, back and the Cowboys are acting like it is not a big deal. he had back surgery in the off season ( 2 rupture disc) now two breaks. they say small, what kind of life is he going to be having 5 to 10 years after football. there should be a bigger picture. for the N.F.L. has in the past denied claims of injury by older players saying it was not caused by football. one was Conrad Dobler and he was an offensive lineman trying for knee surgery. so what makes you think they will help Romo later on down the road?
