RIDING STEELE: WANTED #4

Riding Steele: Wanted (Riding Steele, #4)Being kidnapped by bikers is a harrowing experience, but for some reason, Laurie doesn’t feel as terrified as she should.  The leader’s steely eyes soften when he looks at her, and the others in his gang clearly know she’s hands off.  But does that include Steele's hands?  Her brain resists him, but her body insists she wants those big hands all over her.

Steele doesn’t know how he wound up in this mess–with a kidnapped woman on his hands and the police hot on their trail.  Now he and Laurie are in hiding at an isolated cabin, and Steele has to figure out how to extricate himself...and steer clear of his accidental captive whose tight, slinky clubbing attire is making him think all kinds of dangerous thoughts…

MY REVIEW:
So far this part of story line by far is the better of the 1-4 books.  Don’t get this confused with an average romance biker book.  This is an out and out erotica period.  People in the MC are having sex all over the place and do mean all over.
If that doesn’t bother you then the story line of free love within the group is interesting then this is the book for you.  Because you will come to find out it’s not free love just shared sex amongst people you come to love but are not in love with.
The way it’s meant to work is…the guy that you’re attached to or calls you his woman, basically owns you.  So, as the highest form of trust to his other members he shares his woman with them, purely on a superficial level.  I have only read that in this MC book not in others that is for sure.  His fellow members are not to take advantage hone in, or go behind his back.
Things get heated and once again her ex Donovan Blake contacts Killer with a message about the necklace.  I give this portion of the book 5 stars.  Provided by Net Galley.  I still do not like that either the author or the publisher decided to split up a whole book into sub-parts of 35 pages on the average making 6 books at $1.99 each.

MY REVIEW:
This is not the way I like authors or publishers to present a full story line in little cliffhangers of 35 pages per book at $1.99 per (x) 6 books. Okay, off my soap box now.
Anyway, the box does start to become more griping.  Laurie finds out just how dangerous Donovan Blake is, that she is not the first girl he has done this too either.  His money has bought his way out of other towns he has lived in.  The scary part two girls have come up missing.
After hearing this information Laurie breaks down and turns to Steele.  Their relationship goes through different stages that are interesting.  Just when they are about to consummate their relationship Donovan Blake throws a curve ball right at them.  I give this book 5 stars.

MY REVIEW:
This part of the 6 part story line is filled with Laurie trying at every chance to escape.  She doesn’t believe Steele when he says they won’t hurt her but they won’t let her go either for her own safety.  Their afraid of what Donovan would do to her because of Wild Card defending her and taking her away from him.
There is all kinds of sex going on in this section of the story line.  Raven the only woman in the MC and Rip’s “old lady” that he shares with the other members in the club by the way.  There are woman/man sex & men/men sex.  When Wild Card took her it’s not like he took extra clothes with her.  She came in the skimpy dress that Donovan gave her so Raven lent her some clothes. So, everyone kept mistaking her from the back or at night they could tell Laurie from Raven so you can imagine the greetings.  So, makes she makes another attempt to escape.
I give this book 4 stars.  Still not happy this book is parted up into 6 books at on the average of 35 pages each and costing right now $1.99ea.  Provided by Net Galley.

Steele doesn’t know how he wound up in this mess–with a kidnapped woman on his hands and the police hot on their trail. MY REVIEW:
This was a good beginning to an overall story a novella to most of us who love to read.  Overall I disapprove to either the author or the publisher that split up a whole book into sub-parts in order to get either more readers or more money.
The second thing I dislike is that it leaves you at a cliffhanger like a midsentence cliffhanger.  NOT COOL!!!  I do like all the characters so far except Donovan which I am supposed to dislike.  This MC seems like a likeable group but I guess we’ll have to see since this gives you very little to go on.
Craig, Laurie’s brother, doesn’t like Donovan.  Through Killer, a friend of Craig’s, he tells Steele and his group that rides with him about the situation with Laurie and Donovan and Craig’s concerns.  Craig was going out of town and wanted to have Laurie watched over since he knew that Laurie was supposed to be going out for her 6 month anniversary with Donovan.  Steele and his boys along with Killer were all for protecting Laurie for Craig.  At first the thought about kidnapping had rolled out of Craig’s drunken mouth but that was given a veto by Steele right away.
Steel and the boys meet at the bar & grille to keep an eye out for Laurie.  Just as she surprised they are too to find out that there was another couple celebrating with them.  Once they are done with their dinner they are leaving and Laurie tries to tell Donovan that she doesn’t want to be with him anymore and Donovan goes a little crazy when Laurie tries to reason with him.  Causing that kidnapping theme to be brought back on the table…
I give this portion of the story 4 stars, Cliffhanger 1 star, and having book split into 6-7 parts -1 star.  Provided by Net Galley.  Follow us at: www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Burn for Burn (Burn for Burn, #1)Postcard-perfect Jar Island is the kind of place where nobody locks their doors at night, where parents can sleep easy, knowing their daughters are tucked away safe and sound in their beds.

But bad things can happen, even to good girls . . . and sometimes, the only way to make things right is to do something wrong.

Lillia used to trust boys, but not anymore. Not after what happened this summer. And she’ll do whatever it takes to protect her little sister from the same fate.

Kat is over the rumors, the insults, the cruel jokes made at her expense. It all goes back to one person--her ex-best friend. Someone needs to teach her a lesson, and, with Lillia and Mary behind her, Kat feels up to the task.

Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she’s not the same girl anymore. Now that she’s got friends who have her back, he's going to be in big trouble.

Three very different girls who come together to make things right. Will they go too far?
DAUGHTER'S REVIEW:
This is a book about revenge.  It’s about Lilla, Kat, and Mary wanting revenge on three people in their school.  Wanting to ruin their lives.  Afterwards, it goes very bad.  Everyone will get hurt physically and mentally.

This book is perfect for teens but don’t do anything in this book.  Meaning that the actions that are taken are not things that are safe or appropriate for anyone. So, please don’t.  This book will have you craving more.  I don’t usually read books like this but I loved it.  One of the better books I’ve read, in awhile for sure.

1.)  The other day there was a story of a female basketball player for Division III Mount St. Joseph.  The NCAA allowed the two schools to move up the game two weeks because she has only months to live.  She has an inoperable brain cancer.  They had to move the game to a larger place, Xavier University which seats 10,000, normally Mount has 100 people show up for their games, that night they sold out 10,000 seats.
Lauren Hill not only started the game 17 seconds into the game, the coach did not tell her, they stopped the game both teams gave her a standing ovation and they gave her the game ball.  Because of headaches and medicine she takes which cause nausea she wore pink sunglasses and sat on the bench with her team for the rest of the game as they won.  The employees of Xavier University volunteered their time & the university offered the use of the arena. A great story.

2.)  Who would have thought that at this point in the football season that the Phoenix Cardinals would have the best record in football?  By the way Super Bowl this year is in Phoenix.

3.)  There is nothing wrong with Lebron James, they have only played four games, and it is just good talk radio right now.

THE BILLION DOLLAR PLAYER

THE BILLION DOLLAR PLAYER         MANDY BAXTER
Posted:  Nov. 6, 2014

The Billion Dollar Player by Mandy BaxterIn The Billion Dollar Player by Mandy Baxter, Jase Blackwell, starting tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, is a pro when it comes to football—and to women. Never one to shy away from a challenge, "Billion Dollar Blackwell" is finally able to get the cute waitress he’s had his eye on out for a little fun. But when their steamy encounters inspire Jase to play better than he ever has before, he has to wonder if this exciting woman is more than just a good luck charm… Avery Lockhart doesn’t understand why a pro football player would want to go out with her. Incredibly wealthy and undeniably sexy, Jase Blackwell is everything she thinks she’s not. Getting a little closer to this enigmatic billionaire, however, proves too much for Avery to resist. But as their passion heats up, so does Jase’s game play, and soon, the rumors start to fly. Is Avery only being kept around to ease Jace’s pre-game superstitions? Or, like she believes, does their connection run deeper…?

MY REVIEW:
Absolutely enjoyed this story of Jason (Jase) Blackwell, the “Billion Dollar Blackwell,” as he has been called in the press.  The reason being his family has money now not always been that was way by a long shot.  In fact, it wasn’t until his no good father left and his brother Ryder took over the ranch and made it into a huge success.  He and his twin were already in high school by then.  So, since his brother has the most expensive box seats for the Cowboy’s games, the media want to know if he bought his way on to the team.
The team is smelling the playoffs in their hands but Jase has been off a little so Carson Rider the starting Q.B. is starting to ride him about his stiffness and maybe it being old age.  But Jase know Carson is kidding, Carson does say he should get laid.  He says no way he does believe in that sports fairytales.  They are talking this over at the team party, when they hear the crashing of broken glass.  He turns and looks to see the tiniest petit emerald green eye beauty he had ever seen.  And a woman bitching at her for messing up her dress with Champaign.  Carson says, Jase should go help her.  He says, no at first then does it anyway.
When he tries to help she says no!  Then he takes it upon himself to pick up some towels since none of her fellow workers were going to help.  He asks her name she says Avery Lockhart. She tries to show she is confident and has it handled but she was shaking like a leaf.  Especially, when she was thinking about the tall hunk of a man that was trying to get into her pants.  Why would he want anything else with to do with her?
Avery was a very simple girl, putting herself through school (Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy.)  She wanted more but her clumsiness was a communicable disease.  These two had goals but their paths had crossed and now their worlds were about to be shaken up.  I give this 5 stars.

This sexy anthology will make you want to give your heart to Christmas again and again…Lori Foster has two co-workers plan a Christmas party side-by-side-and discover a love worth celebrating inChristmas Bonus Carly Phillips explores a "mistletoe moment" when a no-nonsense lawyer intent on seducing her boss meets his twin instead--and gives him a scintillating kiss that leaves him begging for more in Naughty Under the Mistletoe. In Sugar Jamison’s Have Yourself a Curvy Little Christmas, former wild child Dina Gregory returns home to New York to find the father of her young son. They don’t seem to have much in common anymore, but when the two get stranded together during a blizzard, they are forced to reexamine if they are better off as "just friends"? Or could it be that true love was there all along? in Some Kind of Wonderful.

MY REVIEW:
1st Story    Christmas Bonus:   By: Lori Foster
Eric Bragg worked for the owner of the company he currently works for Mr. Carmichael, who took him under his wing.  When Mr. Carmichael ups and dies six months ago. This makes it not only difficult on how he should proceed, it very well will hurt his pride, and it could hurt his career after all this time.  You see he has been in love with is friend, mentor and bosses daughter and wants to try and date his daughter.
You see the elderly Drake Carmichael had a daughter Maggie for the last five years has been coming to the company and working from the bottom of the wrung on up.  Learning all she could about the business.  She would come into Eric just about every day to talk to him about the different positions and then just shoot the breezes.  They would hit on all kinds of different subjects nothing was off limits.  The way Eric has been lusting for her is the way she has been lusting for him, but she knew he would never look twice at her even though they had become great friends who could talk for hours.  Her dad even knew of her soft spot for him, but the 10 year difference he said would be a challenge, but promised not to tell him.
Yet, upon his death He left a letter concerning her and Eric.  So, she had to make her move so she would.  Or does Eric have something else in mind?  I give this 5 stars.  Erotica, humor, and love a nice mix.

2nd Story    Naughty Under the Mistletoe:  By: Carly Phillips
This was a case of mistaken identity.  Not knowing it at the time Antonia (Toni) Larson makes plans to finally seduce her boss’s son Stephan Corbin.  She had the hot’s for him but had the work ethics of no playing house where you work.  But she was getting a transfer to a new office she would be leaving that office therefore Stephan would not really be a co-worker anymore.
Being that it was her Christmas party and Stephan’s father had been hospitalized Toni would be flying solo this year as Santa’s helper for the children that come from the homeless shelters.  She talks them into this since she and her mom at different times in her life were in need of the shelters when she was growing up.  Now she gives back by volunteering there when she can.
With her seduction plan well thought out in her head she goes into the room where the children will be coming into.  When she sees Stephan come in looking sexy as hell.  In a super casual clothing that she has never seen him in before.  Before she can even think about it she take her chance.  She pulls him behind the extra-large Christmas tree and kisses the socks off of him.  When she pulls back she says something along the lines of, “You’re not him,” looking into his eyes deeply, “who are you anyway because…”
Max Corbin (Maxwell) is blown away by that kiss.  He can tell she is too.  Although they are both very stun by it.  Max ask, “I’m not who?”  She brushed the question off. And asked for his name.  He tells her and he tells her he’s Stephan’s twin brother.  By then she needs to get ready for the kids and he needs to get the 411 from Stephan on her.
I enjoyed this book a great deal.  I did feel however that the story had a specialness to it that makes you feel good knowing there are still good guys out there.  4 stars only because it did seem rushed at the end.

3rd Book   Some Kind of Wonderful:  By: Beth Ciotta
I really enjoyed this story.  It’s every girls dream that you grow up and accomplish your own personal dreams.  Especially, when you start to question your personal relationship and you look back over your life by sitting looking at pictures.  That is exactly what happens with Maya Templeton (29).  She has a day of looking back when her on again off again relationship with Charlie, who is in real estate, is making her feel pressured to get married.
As she was looking through the pictures Giselle saw her (best friend), she sees a picture of her childhood friend Zachery Cole dressed as a soldier.  She asks who he is and wants to know if she can send a letter of introduction so she can start writing to him.  She does and then “G” as Maya calls her has a problem getting anything on paper and asks Maya for help.  Next thing you know “G” is letting Maya read the responses from her long time BFF Zach.  You see Zach was her next door neighbor who is now 30, and in the U.S. Marines.
Maya starts to see Zachary in a whole new light.  You see “G” is not only just an adrenaline junkie, she’s exotic, curvaceous, and an actress.  All guys know and love her.  Yes, including Zach.  Once he saw her picture he too fell under “G’s” spell just like she thought he would.  The problem came in when “G” her business partner ask for even more help writing the letters to the point where she was all out writing them.
When they turned sexual on both their parts it started to feel weird but she continued them and one day all letters stopped.  She just figured that he was on a mission, especially since she hadn’t heard from Uncle Dan and Aunt Helen (Zach’s Great Aunt and Uncle who raised him.”  Then the holidays were coming she didn’t want to go with her parents and Aunt Helen called and asked that spend Christmas with them.  She was so excited she loved Christmas in Sugar Creek.  Aunt Helen and The Cupcake Club gave her, her love for baking and cooking.  She owes her business Cupcakes to her.
Yet, she was worried then, “G” invited herself along.  All the way down she could not shake off this feeling of something was not right.  Her heart was heavy and the snow storm was not helping.  The closer she got to Aunt Helens and Uncle Dan’s her nerves were on high alert.
This story is so good.  Dealing with the feelings of BFF’s who have a deep and loving connection no matter where they are.  You always want the best for them always.  When it is one of the opposite sex like these two that is when it becomes extremely hard.  You still want it even when it’s another woman.  But, when you have developed feelings for your BFF you do that with a heavy heart and gritting your teeth.  I give this story 5 stars.

4th Book   Have Yourself A Curvy Little Christmas: By: Sugar Jamison
I had already read the full version of this story and have my original review and posted it last year if interested.  I have to say I think I loved it all over again.  Maybe even more.  Dina Gregory used to be a dancer who gets involved with Virgil Rowe.  Same old story she gets pregnant by this playboy billionaire she had been with for six months.  Not that she loved him but she did have a great time with him.  Virgil knew how to party.  When she tells him he says, “To bad you had such a great shape too.  Also, you are putting it up for adoption because you are a mess and can’t take care of yourself.  So, now she has to prove him wrong.
After two years she is having trouble making ends meet.  So, she decides to track down Virgil, eventually ending up at the family home.  She asks for him, the staff explain to Ben Rowe, his brother, who’s asking for Virgil, with who.  And he asks her up.  When she goes up she’s expecting Virgil but it’s his evil brother, Ben.  Neither of them like each other.  Ben explains that Virgil died a year ago in a skiing accident.  Ben can’t let her leave though because the baby she is holding, Dash, looks just like him, Ben his uncle.  So, Ben knows she’s not lying about the baby being her brothers.  He blurts out that he’ll marry her when she says she needs Virgil’s death certificate in order to leave and go back to California.  They’re both shocked by his declaration but she asks until Christmas Eve to make her decision.
I know you will love this story, I sure did.  I like that this street wise girl gives her security to this closed, cold hearted man. Giving back to him an open warm heart and her security and a home for her and her baby. I give this story 5 stars.

The overall book I give it 5 stars.
