But when they discover that “The Wolf” is just the tip of a global terrorist plot whose goal is to upend the US economy and the stability of the Western world, Shannon and his team of operatives must track the terrorists down before their plan comes to fruition.

Shannon comes head-to-head with legions of enemy fighters all across Europe in this breathtakingly cinematic and realistic military thriller, ending with a faceoff between Gil and the one sniper who may be his equal shot. Will he survive?

This third action-packed and battle-filled adventure in the Sniper Elite series takes readers along for a white-knuckle ride across Europe in the company of American soldiers, Russian Special Operatives, and global leaders—and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final page.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
This is the third book with Gill Shannon and it opens slowly for a brief moment. Then it is fast paced until the end. A fantastic story of Gill going after “the wolf” a rogue Russian sniper now a Chechen terrorist. Gill is teamed with a Russian sniper as well named Dargunov, who knows the wolf and his ways. The story goes along and takes you across the globe but they are always one or two steps behind and though they are taking out some of the wolfs team to him it does not matter. Gill is wounded a few times but not until Dargunov is wounded that the bickering between the two of them really makes for a better story. There is also a traitor inside the U.S. Government. Finding the person is necessary for any hope of the mission to be a success because that person is telling the wolf where they are and allowing them to be played. The end of the book is very good and I feel if I say more I will give away more of the story. This is a good book with some of the characters from the other two books and for me is more action and go, go. A fast read there was no slow part of the story just action, action, action. I got this book from net galley.   I give this 5 stars.

Duke City Desperado (Lawbreakers Thriller, #3)
Under a sky full of stars, Dylan James lies sleeping on the roof of a pueblo-style house. He’s a fugitive, and everyone in Albuquerque seems to be looking for him. A murderous Mafia prince wants to kill him. Two FBI agents want to cuff him. A Goth girl wants to make love to him. And a fierce, sexy Chicana just wants to clean up the mess Dylan made.

The trouble started with a drug-addled career criminal named Doc and a bank robbery staged with a garage door opener. Then it all goes off the rails after a little misunderstanding with Dylan’s ex-girlfriend and her jealous, gun-toting new beau.

When the sun comes up, this sleepy, scrawny desperado is going to show the world what he’s made of—all for a one-in-a-million shot at walking out of Duke City alive.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Duke City Desperado, starts with Dylan James listening to his partner Doc talk and talk on just about every subject there is. Doc being high for four days. Doc then gets a brilliant idea of robbing a bank but at the teller window. Dylan after a few minutes realizing that it is going nowhere bolts out of the van and there starts the book and how through a series of events Dylan keeps evading the law. He does pick up some other unwanted people looking for him besides the police and the FBI. The two new criminals after him are having the same luck as the police none. What really makes this story work is all of the characters. Two of the FBI agents or from the first book now having recovered from their wounds but not from the loss of one bank robber and the money from that first robbery. Now Pam Willis, the female agent fearing that her career is shot because they can’t find this guy and will be stuck in Albuquerque. Her partner Hector, in more than work is okay with that since this is his home town and wants to stay but does not want her to leave but does not tell her this because she might shot him at that moment. The next group of characters I really liked was Rosa and her “chicas” these were some bad ass girls but dressed liked they were going out to a night club but really looking for the guy how hit Rosa’s sister Carmen, and when they found him which they did they put a whoop ass on him and his driver when they found them. That scene was priceless he also spoke of one of her girls tired of getting beat what’d until her husband came home drunk tied him up and then when he was sober beat him with a tortilla pan (which is cast iron) until her arm got tired. In court all of the girls said she could not have done it since they were all together, he then moved to Alaska. Did have a friend after many years wait and hit her husband over the head with a cast iron frying pan so she could leave so I know that happens to a lot of women. On with the story still the two guys don’t press charges because they don’t want to admit to be beat up by women. Don’t want to give away the ending but like his other books another fantastic story that I was able to read in one day. A great book. I got this book from net galley.   I give this 5 stars.

Nothing is more awkward than waking up next to a woman whose name you can’t remember...

Navy SEAL Trick Novak knows he needs to find a better way to deal with his chronic insomnia, but a warm body and a ready smile work just fine. Until he meets Gaby Ellis, and discovers she's roommates with last night's hook-up--and thoroughly disgusted with his player ways.

Except maybe falling in love with one who'd rather not know yours.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Trick Novak, is a Navy Seal that is not with his team because he can’t sleep and his blood pressure is up. He is waking up and is trying to remember where he is and as it’s slowly coming back to him the girl that he is with jumps up and tells him she has to get ready for work to let himself out. He is still there when she comes out dressed and she says I don’t do breakfast as he gathers his things he is looking for his boots when her roommate says she put them by the door. He thinks she is nice looking but she does not give him the time of day. Over the next few weeks they end up running into each other and she does not want to be but is attracted to him. Gabby, short for Gabrielle, is a kindergartener teacher and teaches a night class at the college. Once Trick finds out he sets a plan in motion to meet her at the restaurant that he thinks she will be at and tells her that she is the reason he is there afterwards he asked her out on a date and though she felt awkward she said yes. She had a talk with her roommate who told her to let herself live a little and then he had to cancel because he had to go on a mission. By Monday when she had not heard from him she called her roommate and asked her if she could ask around about him. When he finally text her and told her he would be home in a few days and he was banged up. Then as she began to think about everything she realized he must be a Navy Seal. Once she saw him for their date he was bruised and had a broken arm. They decided to go slowly or as slow as she wanted. New for him both realized that they had good and bad in other relationships and how they could be there for each other. A good book about to opposite people coming together and finding not only each other but also themselves. I got this book from net galley.   I give this 5 stars.

Force of Attraction (K-9 Rescue, #2)The only thing more powerful than fear is desire…

A seasoned K-9 officer with the police in Maryland, Cole Jamison has left her old life behind her. With a new home and a new partner—a protective canine named Hugo—Cole is ready for fresh challenges. A crucial position on an important drug task force is exactly what she wants…until she discovers her gorgeous, infuriating ex-husband will be the DEA agent in charge.

FORCE OF ATTRACTION

Agent Scott Lucca may be a pro when it comes to undercover assignments, but this job is daunting even for him. Posing as a happy couple on the dog competition circuit means he and Cole need to get a lot closer than they’ve been in years. Playing a live-in couple should seem like a walk in the park compared to tracking a brutal criminal, but suddenly nothing could be more dangerous than the passionate fire they’ve rekindled…

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
This is a non-stop full of action book from the beginning to the end. It has mystery, comedy, and love. Scott Lucca, is a DEA agent and he is still thinking about his ex-wife, and how it all went wrong. He runs into some bikers at the beginning of the book but he doesn’t think too much about it but you as the reader need to pay attention to the little details of this story for the author does a good job of putting little things in certain places and then later you start thinking back now I remember. When he gets back to his office his boss has decided on a new case and a new partner a local police officer who just happens to be his ex. She is now one of the best K-9 officers with her partner Hugo, who likes to hide things like keys for example. First she says no because they have to play a couple going on the dog show circuit. Though they fight they also work out there past a lot of it comes from him but he never told her but now he is opening up. The same time things are happening to his family that he can’t explain and now he is feeling like there are two cases that he is working. This all makes for an exciting ending and for a very good book. This was a great read and I really liked all of the characters. I got this book from net galley.   I give this 5 stars.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Marisela Gonzalez, rides a Ducati and is looking for her sister. She rides up to a club and a fight breaks out and she hits a guy over the head with a bottle. Turns out the is from a gang called the Banditos and then she runs into a guy from the past named Craig. The story goes along with her putting herself in situations that she needs help in figuring in how to get out of and Craig is the one who just happens to be there for most of the time with both of them fighting the desire they have for one another, which makes for an exciting book along with the rest of the story. this is a good book and a fast read. Last of the Red-Hot Riders (Hells Outlaws, #2)The toughest rodeo rider in Hell, Texas, discovers his tender side with a feisty cowgirl in this sexy new novel from USA Today bestselling author Tina Leonard.

Cameron Dix knows that becoming an elite rider is the first step to realizing her dream: owning a special-needs equestrian academy. Only one thing stands in her way—and he’s big, tall, and sizzles like a Texas steak. Superhunk Saint Markham claims that he isn’t happy about all the women galloping into town, but the heat in his eyes tells Cameron a different story. What else can a fiery redhead do but let her hair down and give in to desire hot enough to melt her saddle?

Saint has seen what happens when women come marching into the Hell’s Outlaws Training Center: Strong men crumble. Problem is, he’s got rivals willing to train a talented lady rider like Cameron. But after one night of passion, he’s branded. And from the moment he kisses her ruby lips, Cameron is his—even if he’s too stubborn to admit it. Now Saint must stake his claim on a life of delicious sin with the woman he loves.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Cameron Dix wants to ride bulls in the rodeo and she wants Saint Markham ex-Navy Seal and former bull rider to train her. He won’t do it because he says women don’t belong on the back of a bull. This just makes her mad and forces her to continue to pester him. The town Mayor and also both of their boss’ tells them that they are in charge of the kissing booth for the upcoming town parade and fund raiser. This puts them closer together which he is already attracted to her and though she is trying to hold back her feelings she lets them out. She wants him to be more of the guy to stand back and let her do things and he is always trying to protect people and she takes it as smothering. She leaves and finds someone else to train her and he feels sorry for himself but can’t still tell her how he feels. She ends up coming back into town and then the fireworks start. I don’t know how many women would wait but okay. Overall this is a good book and the story was good. I got this book from net galley.   I give this 4 stars.

Disintegration: A Windy City Dark Mystery“A dark existential thriller of unexpected twists, featuring a drowning man determined to pull the rest of the world under with him. A stunning and vital piece of work.”
—Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting and Filth

In a brilliantly stylish breakthrough thriller for fans of Bret Easton Ellis’sAmerican Psycho and Will Christopher Baer’s Kiss Me, Judas, here is the compelling tale of a man who has lost it all—and is now navigating a crooked, harrowing path to redemption.

Once a suburban husband and father, now the man has lost all sense of time. He retains only a few keepsakes of his former life: a handmade dining room table, an armoire and dresser from the bedroom, and a tape of the last message his wife ever left on their answering machine. These are memories of a man who no longer exists. Booze and an affair with a beautiful woman provide little relief, with the only meaning left in his life coming from his assignments. An envelope slipped under the door of his apartment with the name and address of an unpunished evildoer. The unspoken directive to kill. And every time he does, he marks the occasion with a memento: a tattoo. He has a lot of tattoos.

But into this unchanging existence seep unsettling questions. How much of what he feels and sees can he trust? How much is a lie designed to control him? He will risk his own life—and the lives of everyone around him—to find out.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
This is a dark but exciting book about a man who at one time was a father, husband and just a guy trying to make it all work. Now he is drunk, high, having an affair oh and by the way he is a killer. He marks his killings by getting a tattoo and his body is now covered by them. but one day as he is listening to the last recording he kept from the night of the accident that took his family he is wondering did it really happen or was it all just a plan to get me to do what I am doing now. As he is trying to put the pieces together he is also trying to stay alive for now someone is trying to kill him. He must find the truth but when he does what will happen, he is a killer and a drunk he is not that man he once was and would his family if they were alive even recognize him. Better yet would they want to be around him? As he gets closer to finding to truth he is realizing he is having to kill more people to just to stay alive but as you get closer to finding out what has happened to him you find yourself actually routing for the guy but knowing he is screwed. An excellent book and the main character and story is full of depth and emotion. A very good book. I got this book from net galley.  I give this 5 stars.

But loving Donovan means helping him face his past–so they can fight for a future together.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
This story begins with a guy named Donovan Pate, arriving back in town because he inherited his grandmothers Mansion. He had been gone for seven years and really did not want to come back and especially to the place he grew up and did not have good memories of. One of the first people he runs into is Sophie Martin, who actually was the last person he saw and not on good terms, being slapped by her after saying some things he should not have said after they were together. Now standing face to face they are brought back to that night. They are also put together because before his grandmother passed she arraigned for a function to be put on at the mansion and Sophia is in charge and she is charging Donavan who though he says he is not attracted to her still is and when the function is over it is time for a decision for him on whether to sell the place and also to have a relationship with Sophia he must decide what to do or just run away again. A good story because the two main characters actually work things out and they get to know each other, but the guy is still scared. Overall a good book. I got this book from net galley.  I give this 4 stars.

Sometimes going after the bad guy you find the good girl…

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
In this story undercover DEA agent Matthew Kane is after the biggest drug cartel especially after his brother is killed by them. He now uses his alias and goes in undercover but does not expect to fall for the boss’s daughter. In order for the whole plan to work they get married. She cannot stand him but slowly she is beginning to warm to him. He is in love with her and wants to protect her but does not know how to tell her that her father is not the man she thinks he is. As this love hate relationship goes along there are moments that they are together that she sees a different side and slowly she is seeing things a little differently until the final big blow up. A good fast paced and exciting book, and I liked the two main characters a lot. The action in this book makes this a fast read for it feels like nonstop as you go through the story. Hot As Blazes by Dani JaceWhen the Heat Gets Started

JoAnn Mercer was on the verge of surfer stardom when her career took a nosedive thanks to a backstabbing ex. Now she’s back home in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, staying clear of men, desperately in need of a job. Joining the local firefighting squad seems like the perfect solution, until she realizes one of her coworkers is an old crush…

It Will Never Stop

Ray Andrews never runs away from a fight. He served his country in Iraq, and he’s battled more fires than he can count. But what he can’t fight is the desire burning between him and JoAnn Mercer. He’s wanted Jo for as long as he can remember, but a promise made years ago has kept them apart. Finally free of obligations, Ray is ready to prove he’s the only man for Jo. But after the trauma of her past, can he convince her to love again?

MY REVIEW:
We allow fear to tie our hands and our hearts in so many areas of our lives.  We sometimes engulf those we love in our madness too.  That was surely the case with Cappy Mercer.  The beloved Fire Captain of the fire house for Nags Head, OBX.
You see his wife ran out on him leaving a note and their two children Bobby who is now a lieutenant with the police department and JoAnn (Jo) who was his protected baby girl.  He knew Bobby could take care of himself but Jo being without a mama, it was going to be rough.   He may not have had success in helping her to be girly but she was a damn good surfer.  With that she earned a full ride scholarship for Surfer College in California.  For a North Carolina girl that was big.
The thing was her dad and Bobby were excited she and her brother’s best friend, adopted second son, and Jo’s surf buddy, Ray Andrews were not happy at all.  Cappy, who Ray loved like a father and looked up to as a father even more than his own, asked him not to tell Jo that he was in love with her.  His thought was that she needed to follow her dream of making The World famous surfing team.  That way if she ever came home she would have no regrets.  Like her mother did.  So, out of love he said nothing.
For Jo she was heartbroken to have to be have to be leaving home.  Everything and everyone she loved was here at home.  Especially, Ray who she had loved since Jr. High.  She was crushed when he didn’t ask her not to leave.  So, she goes and is gone for 5 years.  They are all miserable.  Her dad dies during that time and a guy she dates plays her like a country bumpkin causing her to lose her position on the team.  Making her come home with her tail between her legs feeling like a failure.
See how Jo tries to rebuild her life that had burned to ashes as she saw it.  Find out if Ray felt the same intenseness she did in her heart.  See if her legal troubles are truly resolved or will she have to keep looking over her shoulder?  Are the new friends she is making who they seem to be or are they plants in a larger game being played against her for revenge?
You will come across erotica, shoot outs, arson, car chases and so much more.  This was a surprise book that was good and fast too.
I give this 5 stars.  Provided by Net Galley.

Heart Breaker by Harper KincaidLove wasn’t in the script…

Break on Through, Book 2

Former man-eater Samantha Lockhart has been an actress long enough to be able to spot a smooth-talking player a mile away. Dark-haired, bourbon-eyed, a wicked smile…Kyle Masterson is one of the best.

From his bad-boy motorcycle boots to his good-ole-boy Southern drawl, everything about Kyle screams sex appeal. But after a tragedy hits close to home, Sam tries to convince herself she’s done with players on and off the stage.

Kyle, a V-twin-riding divorce attorney, has witnessed enough horror stories of love gone wrong to know that while women are welcome in his bed, they’re definitely not in his future. But once the petite, mercurial redhead catches his eye, he can’t think of anything—or anyone—else.

Sam’s trust doesn’t come easy, but the more time they spend together, the deeper they both fall. Yet just as they’re breaking through each other’s barriers, someone who doesn’t like being upstaged makes a deadly play of his own. And if Sam refuses, she may not be able to breathe a word to anyone…ever.

Warning: Contains a small-town thespian who isn’t easily fooled and a lawyer with a weakness for V-twin engines and sassy redheads.
MY REVIEW:

Tragedy struck two sisters who were very close to one another as well as their parents.  Samantha Lockhart, 27, an actress, she never was so happy to be roommates with her younger sister Jessica.  Especially, on the awful night Samantha received a call saying that their parents were killed.  They were killed by a drunk driver just blocks from their childhood home.
The two dropped everything to go home.  Samantha left behind a play she was in and Jes left behind her Special Ed students she taught in order to put her parent’s affairs in order.  At first they thought about selling their childhood home but once they got here and started fixing it up they both admitted to missing Vienna, Virginia their hometown had what they wanted in this new phases of their lives.
After many months being in the house only fixing and renovating Sam went with Jes a few doors down to Jax and Lauren’s Super Bowl party.  While there she catches the eye of Kyle Masterson a divorce attorney and the number one player in three states for sure.  Not only did Jax warn her but she knew all the game plays since she use to be one herself.  She was strong that first day to ward him off but after two weeks I believe it was he sees her again.  The second time not so much will power did she have.
Kyle is one Alpha Male to the MAX.  He has met his match in Samantha.  Just when I think she has no backbone or is wishy-washy she brings him to his knees.  I have to say the notes the day after he gets her in bed, they would have been a done deal with most women or a long and painful courtship to make him pay but she had other ideas.  A week went by of her moping around before her best gay boyfriend of the theater decided to take matters into his own hands.  He knew Kyle and his date were at the same party he was hosting with his partner so he asked Samantha to get in her sexiest dress, which she was not happy about and he lied saying his boyfriend was gone and couldn’t attend with him, and come to the event with him ASAP!  So she does.
You see he knew after talking with Samantha in long sister sessions that Kyle had kissed her off by notes.  So he thought a little improv was in order.  So when she arrived and before she could look around.  As soon as Samantha walked up to him in all of Patrick’s sexiness he pulls her in by cupping her cheeks with both hands and whispers in her ear, “Remember the first rule of improv?”  Then, he kiss the stuffing right out of her so well and so sexy that she almost forgot that he was gay.  When he pulled back she just had the look of shock.  He took her by the arm and walked inside and then is when she saw not only Patrick’s partner there but she also saw Kyle and his date. He did not look happy.  She did not look happy with Patrick…
This was a total surprise of a book for me.  Yet a totally good one at that.  It had suspense, an evil director, attempted murder, a kidnapping, stacking, sex play broken hearts, and so much more.  You will not want to miss this one it will keep you on your toes and make you laugh and say awe & boo a few time too.  I give this 5 stars.  Provided by Net Galley.
