THE BIG GIRL'S GUIDE TO BUYING LINGERIE

THE BIG GIRL'S GUIDE TO BUYING LINGERIE      AMIE STUART

The Big Girl's Guide to Buying Lingerie by Amie StuartMy name is JADE BALLARD, and this is the story of how a freak accident with a cookie changed the life of a semi-reformed people-pleaser (that’s me!).

After a disastrous marital near-miss Jade Ballard retreats to San Antonio, cutting herself off from the world in general and more specifically her family’s country club lifestyle, which she no longer wants any part of. She takes comfort in food and the safety of an internet love affair.

Rowdy Yates is a semi-reformed womanizer who’s leery of long-term entanglements. Until Jade, he never seriously considered anything beyond a “Wife-For-A-Night.”

After months of flirting on the internet the couple meets, only to discover they already know one another. Rowdy has always mistaken Jade’s shy reserved nature for snobbishness, and Jade has always viewed the woman-loving Rowdy as a Redneck Casanova. But the seven months they spent getting to know one another formed an attraction neither can fight.

MY REVIEW:
When you’ve had to live your life by someone’s standards other than your own you tend to not know who you really are.  But for Jade Skye Ballard it took being left at the alter by the man her mother, the judge, handpicked. Her mother Judge Trudy Ballard, not for her but for her sister Emerald Rayne.  Somehow Allen fell for her size 10 self instead of her sister, size 4.
They were all set to marry in fact she was at the alter when the great upstanding lawyer her mother liked so well ran off with a stripper he met at his bachelor party and then married her instead.  Jade was humiliated, angry, and took it out on her hair by chopping it off with desk scissors in the bathroom that night.  By morning she was packed and moving to a new town away from her mother who was accusing her of doing something to drive Allen away.  Of course she never told her mother she had been having to fact her orgasms with Allen, oh well.
Three years have passed.  The pain and hurt are gone from what Allen did but not the anger.  Same holds for her mother taking his side saying, “If only…Blah, Blah, Blah!”  The bad part is somewhere along the line she gained 50lbs. and it never bothered her until now.  She met a guy on line 6 months ago and they have really hit it off.  SheCowboy: Robbie and she SkyeBaby met through a chat room for singer Chris Cagle.  Their debate over hockey got a little heated but the owner of the site asked them to take it to a private chat room.  Which they did.  Now they formed a routine of IM chats and emails.
Now Robbie wants to press on and meet Skye does too but there is one small problem, she hasn’t told him she is overweight.  Yet, when he asked to meet for her birthday a coughing fit over a cookie got her in a mess, making it hard to resist.  Yet, there’s a twist these two don’t know they already know each other and what a surprise is in store for them both.  One thinks of him as a “Redneck Casanova” and the other thinks she is a “Snob.”
So the meet doesn’t work out as well as the both had hoped.  Their romance on the internet was something totally different than in person.  He loved to get a rise out of her just to see her fine China complexion go flush.  She likes to be the bitch to get his shoulders to stiffen.  Yet, when they do reread each other’s emails the loving feelings they had built for one another over time was still there. So, can they try to make this work in spite of what they thought of each other prior to the letters of their true selves?
I enjoyed this erotica BBW (Big Beautiful Woman) tale.  It really was a true story.  Which is a rare for a BBW.  Most make them straight erotica’s with no story.  But this had it all love, laughter, pain, sorrow, and so much more.  I give this 5 stars.

Kansas City is up 2-0 on the Mets and last night Kansas City got a great pitching game from Johnny Cueto-who pitched a complete game and only gave up two hits.  He is the first American League pitcher since Jack Morris of the “91” Twins to pitch a complete game in a World Series.  Now we wait and see if the Royals can win 2 more games.

The NBA season started the other night and for me the biggest surprise was that the New York Knicks won their first game of the season and that Anthony was not the leading scorer.  Maybe there is some hope?

Dear Readers,

I know you were anticipating a Molly tell-tale today and I so, so wish I could have given it to you. Unfortunately time got away from me and, in the chaos of life (you know how that goes, right?), I didn't get to finish the interview or return all the needed information in time. This is totally on me and not this amazing blog!

As a consolation, I would like to offer five readers a digital copy of my River Bend boxed set. I'll let Char choose the winners and I'll hook them up with the prize.

Happy Halloween weekend and again...my apologies.

RYKER (COLD FURY HOCKEY #4)

RYKER (COLD FURY HOCKEY #4)            SAWYER BENNETT

Ryker by Sawyer BennettThe rugged men of the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team are winning hearts once again in another scorching novel fromNew York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett.

The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he’s got a year left to prove he’s still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure’s on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.
MY REVIEW:
This is one intense romance with an erotic hotness to singe the sheets for sure.  Yet, it is one all made possible behind locked doors only.
Gray Brannon the only daughter of widower father Brian Brannon who just so happens to be the president, CEO, and now past general manager of his team of hockey players The Cold Fury.  Upon stepping down he called up his top recruiter for the team and someone he could trust with his beloved team, Gray.  Making her national news.  She is the first woman ever to hold a position of general manager but also the younger at 31 years old.
Of course many think her father is showing favoritism by appointing her.  Some just think he doesn’t care about the team anymore.  Either way regardless of what they think what they should remember, as her father does, that she was the one that single handedly recruited most of the current team and she is ready to turn them into champions.  There are a few weeds to get rid of but in due time.
One player on the team has always stood out-Ryker Evans.  They acquired him in a trade when he and his fellow teammate from his last team, the Eagles, got in a fight.  The reason why most would give him a pass but the Eagles didn’t so their loss was the Cold Fury’s gain.  Because as he is the best goalie in the league right now.  He is on fire.  Who knows how it will work once Max the actual goalie comes off of the injured list.  But he’ll do whatever coach decides he knows that’s what’s best for the team.  He just hopes that he knows that he still has a lot of juice still in him.
Ryker has two daughters with his ex-Hensley, or should I say soon to be ex.  The girls, Ruby and Violet are great girls.  Ruby is the outwardly explorer type and Violet is the quiet, helping, dreamer type.  Part of them misses their mom and part of them is angry with her for leaving them.  That’s right dumped.  She dumped them and ran off with his ex’s super young ex-teammate.  Ryker has full custody of the girls now.
One simple coffee together after a yoga class leads to a night of sex, office sex, and you get the picture.  Then an accident occurs and the reality gets them both to thinking…
This story not only was it erotically stimulating it was emotionally charged also.  Here you have this brilliantly gifted woman who has thought of nothing other than her education and her job.  Yes, she has had mad monkey sex but never a connection.  When she was younger her father did try to restrain her in order that she not get to out of touch with her peers from being so smart.  But, she said by then it was already too late she was already light years ahead of them.  Same with work and how she approached her methods of running it.
So, finding love with and through sex was an absolute amazing find.  She had never made a connection before with another human being and wasn’t even sure it was love.
See how this author takes you through Gray and Ryker’s new found relationship.  I give this 5 stars.  Follow us at:

The Heat of the Moment (The Boys of Summer, #3)

THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT #3               KATIE ROSE

The Heat of the Moment by Katie RoseThe Boys of Summer are back! In Katie Rose’s sweet, sparkling novel, the newest New Jersey Sonic falls for the woman who’s trying desperately to save his career.

Physical therapist Jessica Hart has learned her lesson: Never date professional athletes. She’s been down that road, and barely recovered after the relationship crashed and burned. Then Jessica meets Gavin King. An All-Star slugger with chiseled good looks, Gavin was traded to the Sonics because he hurt his knee sliding into second, and now his future is in her hands. Gavin’s no bad boy—but he’s tempting enough to make Jessica think twice about all her rules.

Gavin is trying to find a comfortable routine. If he wants his old life back, he must take it easy, stay out of the limelight, and keep his distance from gorgeous redheaded physical therapists. The thing is, Gavin isn’t the kind of guy to sit on his ass and let other people pull his weight. And when he sees something he wants, he can’t help but fight for it, even if it means risking everything, even if it only lasts a single moment: like one kiss from Jessica.

MY REVIEW:
Jessica Hart physical therapist for the New Jersey Sonics Baseball team knows her stuff and she knows men.  Why she has five brothers all in pro sports and all very protective of her.  One is in soccer, one in hockey, one in baseball and two in football.
Jessica never learned how to be a girlie girl to mom’s dismay but who could fault her with 5 brothers?  It was eat or be eaten.  With all that said Jess fell in love with a young player.  Seems natural right?  It was except that he got too much fame to fast and it went to his head and he believed his own hype.  After months of dating she finds out he has been having an affair not with just one but with many women behind her back.  Yet he couldn’t take the fact that she dumped him not the other way around.
So the harassing phone calls started to the point where she has to change her number.  She knew a lot of it had to do with the fact that he got too successful too fast and he got a huge head at such a young age but it was hard to see a really good guy take a really bad turn.  The Zach she fell in love with before he believed his own hype was really sweet and real.  A year has passed and she has moved on with her life in every area but the romantic one.  She knew for sure there would never be a pro athlete again that is for sure.  She learned her lesson although she knew there were some good ones out there like her bother Rory, like the pitcher for the Sonics Chase and Jake the shortstop.  Rory said to even ask him about the pro ones and he would give the 411 if he didn’t know he would find out for her.
The one day Gavin King walks into the PT room with Pete the coach to be introduced to her and she knew she was in deep trouble.  He was her type tall, dark, chocolate brown eyes and built but she saw the limp and the therapist kicked in.  She dropped down rolled up his pant leg and checked it out.  She told them to give her a few minutes to read over the doctor’s report and look at the MRI.  Really what she needed was to have a minute for her heart to stop racing and give herself a pep talk.  The spark of an interest was there for this guy.  She decided to mainly test range of motion and do minimal amount of stretching.
Gavin was in a funk and frustrated so that night the team went to the bar and Jessica was there.  They didn’t speak because he was sulking.  So when Jess and Pete the coach got up to leave he did notice.  She may not be model pretty but there is this naturally athletic stealth body to die for that makes you take notice.  Yet, it’s her personality that captures your heart with her spirit of truly caring about who she is working with.  When she gets outside she puts on her coat and zips it high to her chin then she lets down her gorgeous mane of red curly hair that he just wanted to run his fingers through.  He shivered not knowing where that came from since he still kinda was in a relationship that was giving him questions.  Yet, he didn’t want to think Kristin his model girlfriend was trying to cut him loose like the Dodgers and or was seeing someone now that he was gone.  No sooner had he finished the thought when Roger the outfielder came up beside him and said something crude like, “Don’t even think about tapping that Jess don’t do athletes.”  Gavin told him he had a girlfriend no worries.  In his heart there was a flip when he thought of Jess.
Can these two dance around their attraction and hearts of desire?  Or are they just meant to work together as friends during his long recovery?  What do they both want out of a relationship and can they find it with each other?
I really enjoyed this book.  Love can be so scary for some people.  Especially, when you have been personally hurt.  When your life revolves around pro sports and you see the actions of the players first hand you become gun shy.  Yet, when your heart truly falls in love with the right one and you try as hard as you can to deny it but they are true to you and to the world in general it is hard to resist.
I give this 5 stars.  Provided by netgalley.com.  Follow us at:

GUESS WHO IS COMING ON FRIDAY? MOLLY McLAIN AUTHOR OF: CAN'T RESIST HIM EXCERPT

Welcome Author:
Molly McLain
Author of:

Sometimes what you want and what you need are two very different things.

Always relegated to the “friends with benefits” corner of small town River Bend, Jenny Riley is done giving the milk for free. Falling hard for a bad boy? Not in the plan, either.

Sexy, emotionally-wounded Marine Reservist Brody Nelson just needs someone to lend an ear. A friend. Friends to lovers? That’s more than he bargained for.

Neither wants a relationship. A long distance friendship should be enough.

It’s not.

Warning: This books contains a tattooed, pierced hero with a few surprises up his sleeve...and a hella sexy one down his pants.

Can't Resist Him is the fifth book in the River Bend series.

Ducking out the backdoor with an armful of empty beer bottles, he heard the neighbor’s dog start barking out in the front and he spun around so fast from the recycling bins that he nearly clocked his face on the door, hurrying back inside.
First thing on Monday’s to-do list: Hire a cleaning lady in case Jenny had more of these impromptu visits up her sleeve.
He met her at the front door, a grin on his face that probably made him look like a randy teenager. “Fuck, you look amazing. Hurry up, get in here.”
She laughed as she maneuvered around piles of slushy, melting snow. “I’m trying, I’m trying!”
“God, woman,” he growled when she got close enough for him to grab and pull in tight. She’d swapped out her fluffy parka for a white fleece number that significantly reduced the amount of fabric between her tits and his chest. His cock took notice. “You feel so fucking good,” he murmured against her neck. “Best part of my entire week.”
“Mine, too.” Her fingers slid up into his hair as she wiggled closer, and he shivered. More of that, please. “But I have a confession to make.”
“What’s that?” he asked between stealing kisses and ridding her of her jacket.
“I’ve actually been driving around for an hour trying to find you. Tony gave me the wrong address.” She bit at her lip and made the most adorably uncertain face ever. “I wanted to surprise you.”
Well, hell. Words couldn’t do justice to how friggin’ elated that made him. Women had shown up on his doorstep lots of times, flaunting their proverbial trench coat and batting their fuck-me eyes, but not one—not a single goddamn one—had ever shown up late on a Saturday afternoon just because she wanted to see him.
Inch by inch, he backed her toward the wall in his hallway. When her shoulders hit the dark red paint, she gasped and he took great pleasure in covering her sweet lips with his…in swallowing that breathy sound and letting it seep deep into his lungs.
Her hair felt like ribbons of satin between his fingers and her heat like a fire in the middle of a cold, barren Afghani desert. He couldn’t get close enough, needed more of her all around him. And she gave him just that, pushing up onto her toes, so she could fold her arms around his neck and eliminate every possible space between them. All the while, she fed his soul with wet, addictive kisses that soothed him from the inside out. A high like he hadn’t experience in too damn long built fast and heady, better by a million than any whiskey-induced buzz could have ever been.
“I like surprises,” he muttered against her mouth. “Especially when they taste like sugar.”
She laughed and the lush, full-bodied sound echoed off his walls, spilling a little of her essence into his home. He wanted more of that laughter…wanted her to fill up every bit of his space with all the parts of herself she was willing to share. She was the comfort in his otherwise chaotic world. His peace of mind when his head filled up with so much shit, he couldn’t think. And by some strange, nonsensical twist of fate, he suspected he gave her something similar in return.
“We good now?” he asked, slowly and regretfully loosening his hold on her before he got greedy and pushed past her boundaries.
She nodded. “I think so. Though, we might want to double check a little later.”

It was New Year’s Eve and Jenny Riley and Brody Nelson had met for the first time as far as Jenny knew. Later was later told by Brody it was the second. You see Jenny had a friends with benefits situation with Reed Fletcher that she knew since high school. Until recently when Reed found the girl of his dreams again. Therefore, dropping Jenny as a bed buddy but not as a friend, so he thought. Especially since that was the normal M.O.
Jenny was, “Not anymore! All men were asses! I am done giving my milk away for free!” At some point she had met Brody when she and Reed were out with their friends. But since she had been hoping Reed would really see her and fall in love with her one day he didn’t. What he said at the beginning held true. Basically that it was just sex, he wasn’t in love with her, and there wouldn’t be anything more than sex. How do guys do that? What does that mean? That you’re there on call, call girl, or what?
So when her friend Ally gets married in Vegas she goes and her roomie leaves her the suite that they shared the night before their wedding. So she is there all alone. She starts going ape bat crazy being there all alone that the thoughts of a relaxing bath makes her crazier. Maybe that’s why she was with Reed so long he keep the loneliness away.
Hating to be alone and yet hating to be alone in a bar on New Year’s Eve could be worse she says, “F” It!” Goes down for a few drinks when Brody who thinks she’s not just hot but sexy. Once I read, “Hot was how girls look, (and with her brown hair curviness,) “sexy was how a girl acted. If a hot girl didn’t know how to move her body, she was just hot.” That is what Brody saw yet he also saw a girl who had been hurt recently by a guy and no guy was going to get past the walls.
He didn’t need that he had his own problems. They stamped him with PTSD. Three tours as a Marine and the UAS was messing with him. So he was a little messed up after having a few friends die in his arms. He could handle it he is a Marine after all. Right? Well, it didn’t work that way he had to talk to someone. It took an encounter with a curvy brunette to get him to somewhat agree to counseling. He’s there at least.
It worked out that night at the bar when they bumped into each other going up to their rooms a sticky situation was brewing not of his making. Jenny could tell it was not of his making so she jumped in the mix to help when one of the potential players follows them to their rooms. She ends up with Brody in her room passed out at first. When he wakes they share a meal then truths are shared that cut like a knife. Causing a brick to be removed from their walls. Once they come to an agreement to stay out of each other’s business and then it was time to…
A bond was formed in Vegas. Lack of sex actually cemented it for these two in a way having sex does it for others. Since these two were the eternal bed buddies it was time for a change up. Jenny because she was tired of the Reed rollercoaster. For Brody it was the trust and the safe connection to talk about his last tour where he lost two buddies. Find instead the woman he didn’t know he was looking for.
This book was refreshing the way the author didn’t over do the PTSD but spoke of the struggle our strong proud service personnel have taking help to combat it. It’s real and we as a nation need to encourage it not make them ashamed of it. As Reed tried to make Jenny feel about Brody. I also like that his friends, counselor, and himself knew Jenny couldn’t fix him he had to. Yet he knew he liked who he was with her which got him to seek that help on a real basis.
I totally enjoyed the books funny parts, erotic parts, and gut wrenching parts too. This author pulled you through a lot of different emotions but made it better in the end yet in a real way. Totally worth your read. I give this 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com.
