HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Motorcycle club pres. Jagger Dalton wants a ranch that he won in a card game. Phoenix Ward wants the ranch that her father has not been taking care of for years. Now that he is dead a rival gang wants the ranch and Phoenix. After Jagger figures out that Phoenix is not a guy but a smokin out chick will go to any length to make sure that the rival gang has nothing to do with her. Though he is an arrogant ass she tells him if he could keep his mouth shut and most definitely not speak they might be a very slim chance that she could like him, but when he starts to speak that all goes out the room. He of course does not give up and she will not back down. I found this to help the story along because she is like this all the way until the end. they have this back and forth relationship and it actually starts to work for them until the rival gang wants them dead except for her and now Jagger must come up with a way to safe his club, but also the women he has fallen for. Full of action from the start until the end. a very good book. I really liked the characters. I got this book from netgalley.  I give this 4 stars.

TOUGH AS THEY COME

TOUGH AS THEY COME                              SSG TRAVIS MILLS

Tough As They ComeThousands have been wounded in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Five have survived quadruple amputee injuries. This is one soldier's story.

Thousands of soldiers die year to defend their country. United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills was sure that he would become another statistic when, during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, he was caught in an IED blast four days before his twenty-fifth birthday. Against the odds, he lived, but at a severe cost—Travis became one of only five soldiers from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to survive a quadruple amputation.

Suddenly forced to reconcile with the fact that he no longer had arms or legs, Travis was faced with a future drastically different from the one he had imagined for himself. He would never again be able to lead his squad, stroke his fingers against his wife’s cheek, or pick up his infant daughter.

Travis struggled through the painful and anxious days of rehabilitation so that he could regain the strength to live his life to the fullest.  With enormous willpower and endurance, the unconditional love of his family, and a generous amount of faith, Travis shocked everyone with his remarkable recovery. Even without limbs, he still swims, dances with his wife, rides mountain bikes, and drives his daughter to school.

Travis inspires thousands every day with his remarkable journey. He doesn’t want to be thought of as wounded.  “I'm just a man with scars,” he says, “living life to the fullest and best I know how.”

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
This is a story about Travis Miller who was part of the 82nd Airborne Division. He is also one of five survivors of quadruple amputations during Iraq and Afghanistan. The beginning of the book talks about his life growing up and then how he decided to join the service and then how he picked the Airborne. The 82ND was the unit my father was with during WWII and I have always held them a little special because of that, but Travis was really a true leader. He was always singing airborne songs and running back to camp after a mission was completed, a true spirit of Airborne when you know about their history. The story also goes into his marriage and birth of his daughter and then leads up to the third deployment that is the one where he is injured. From that point on you get to see first-hand more of the fear and pain of losing all of his limbs. At the same time you see how he builds his courage to fight past though obstacles, fears, and the pain with the help of his wife, family, friends and the rest of the military community. For his grit really showed to the point where even a group of Marines were encouraged by his determination to overcome and not to let his injuries overcome him. A very, very outstanding book, but more importantly a book about a true hero and a wife to stand by him. I got this book from netgalley.  I give this 5 stars.

Mine is intended for mature audiences.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Dimitri started club sin and has seen it rise to its highest level and being a Dom he is feeling better than good. Now that Presley his Submissive is everything he thought he wanted in a sub his world is about to take a much unexpected turn that he could not have foreseen at all. First he is threaten by a stranger with some photos of high powered people leaving the club and if he does not do what the person wants he will make the photos public. He calls a meeting with some of the other Dom’s, but the whole time he does not want any body’s help he wants to fix it all on his own. When he gets home he does not talk to Presley and then when things get out of control with them she uses her safe word which she has never had to use before. He still won’t talk to her about what is going on and this causes her to leave. She does not want to be with someone who has violated her trust and has taken advantage of her, while not treating her as someone he respects in a relationship which is what they had. She was wanting more. Gone when he comes home now he has lost her and is on the verge of losing his club, but he still won’t talk even after he finds the person who sent and took the pictures. After dealing with that person he is working on closing the club and starting a new one and also trying to repair the relationship with Presley. A very emotional book and the characters all have much depth more than you would expect from this type of book. A very well written and thought out story line that keeps moving quickly from start to end. A good book. I got this book from netgalley.  I give this 4 stars.

Last Chance Christmas

LAST CHANCE CHRISTMAS                        JOANNE ROCK

Last Chance ChristmasFashion buyer Shea Walker had a fast track lifestyle until a car accident sidelines her to a painful recovery. Seeking quiet for the holidays, Shea returns to the snowy mountains where she grew up to make peace with her past and spend time with her estranged family. She never expected J.C. Royce–now a hockey star–would return to their hometown, too. Determined to avoid that particular sexy mistake, she’s caught off guard when her first night in town brings them face to face.

Seeing Shea practically fall at his feet is gratifying, until J.C. realizes his proud former friend, who he once thought would become a whole lot more, is truly hurt–and in more ways than she lets on. Lucky for Shea, he’s got a big house just sitting empty and a tree ready to decorate, as she is in no shape to stay by herself. With his bad boy arrogance down to an art form after eight years in the NHL, J.C. is more than a match for feisty Shea. Especially when it comes to her outrageous claim that there was never any chemistry between them…

But when it comes to convincing her to stick around town until the New Year, he
just might need a Christmas miracle.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:

This a short story but is very in depth. Shea Walker comes from a hockey family her father was a pro as was her uncle and some cousins, and he had her life planned out for college than the National team, and Olympics. The problem was she had her own hopes and dreams and they had nothing to do with hockey. Her plan also included her boyfriend J.C. Royce who also happened to be the first player her father coached after he left the game that had a chance at a pro career. So when he opted for the draft and took the money for the contract in her mind they were done and she was done with hockey. She did college on her own and became a fashion buyer for a department store in Manhattan, she also very rarely made it back home to visit because of feelings her father has of her walking away from the game. Now ten years later she is driving back home to upState New York to see her parents and finish recovering from an accident she had in Manhattan, she is still with bruised ribs, a walking boot, and a left shoulder that hurts. But she makes the drive only to find out that her parents have gone to Hawaii for the holidays, but she falls or runs into J.C. who happened to be at her parents’ house working on the outdoor rink that used to be set up every year. Now she is at a crossroads because really what she also wanted to do was make some type of peace with her parents, but she now was forced to work on making up with J.C. who also seeing that she was hurt took her in to his place and now he was wanting to come up with a plan of his own to keep her there or keep them together. First she must let down some of her walls and he tells her he was wrong for not talking to for the draft. It is a start, read this short story to find out if they can find love. A good book. I got this book from netgalley.  I give this 5 stars.

THE BILLIONAIRE HEARTBREAKER #3

THE BILLIONAIRE HEARTBREAKER #3          MANDY BAXTER

In The Billionaire Heartbreaker by Mandy Baxter, Travis Christensen's life is one big party. He only has two concerns: being a star goalkeeper on the ice for the Dallas Stars, and keeping a revolving door of women at his beck and call. But when a feisty, fiery PR rep comes to tone down his image before the coach benches him, Travis has got a whole new mess on his hands...and he can't help but want more.

Reily Martin never met an image she couldn't make squeaky clean. So when the coach of the Dallas Stars hires her to reform their bad-boy goalie, Reily is more than up to the challenge. But dealing with the arrogant-and incredibly sexy-Travis Christensen proves to be more than she bargained for. She knows she shouldn't fall for hockey's most notorious playboy-but as the heat blazes between them, it gets harder and harder to say no.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Reily Martin is hired by the Dallas Stars hockey team to change their star goalie Travis Christensen, reputation in the press and have him not be in the press all the time for one night stands and for drinking. He does not care what people think because he really knows the true story and does not let anyone close to his family to record those moments. Reily has caught his eye from the first moment he saw her and now he must convince her that he is true about his feelings for her but will she be true about hers. She cannot believe someone like him is attracted to her because she does not see herself as beautiful. While he is trying to convince her and she sees the real Travis, around his family, something happens to throw them apart and now he must come up with two great saves one in game seven of the finals and the other for Reily. A good story, I liked the hockey part to help the story along. A good book. I GOT THIS BOOK FROM NETGALLEY.  I give this 4 stars.
