HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Kat left here home of Georgia for California almost twenty years ago. She has been back only a few times and that is fine with her. A mother who she feels is to controlling, and an ex who slept with her supposed friend after they broke up before the prom. She is now going back home for her niece’s wedding that is planning and paying for. Her niece has been working with her and living with in California since she went there for college. Kat now a successful attorney owning her own firm wants to do this for her niece because her niece helped her as well and she not only like her, but her fiancĂ©. The fireworks to this story begin as soon as she arrives in Georgia and do not let up until the end. There is arguing, finding love, and dealing with her ex, and the now grown woman she still does not care for that he broke up for. The big part of this story is the surprise love story for Kat, and that for me is what makes this a fantastic book. I do not want to spoil it, but the characters are made to feel real and it has that southern charm at times. A good book. I got this book from netgalley. I gave it 4 stars. CRACK IN THE ARMOR (Clipped Wings #2.5)

CRACK IN THE ARMOR                    HELENA HUNTING

Chris, a sexy tattoo artist, tries to win the heart of Sarah, a grad student with little interest in him, in this second e-short and follow-up to Helena Hunting’s gripping love story, Clipped Wings—“twisted, dark, incredibly erotic…a love story like no other” (USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton).

Part owner of the Chicago tattoo shop Inked Armor, Chris Zelter is a talented artist who decorates skin with gorgeous designs. He might look the part of the typical jacked-up, inked-up bad-boy, but underneath is a fiercely loyal, complicated man. Kicked out at sixteen, Chris has had to fend for himself for the last twelve years, making his Inked Armor crew as much family as they are business partners. For him, it’s enough—until he meets Sarah Adamson.

A grad student waitress at the local strip club, Sarah is used to propositions and crude comments. The job is a means to an end—finish her MBA, pay off the tuition loans, and get a good job. Then she won’t have to rely on anyone to take care of her. So when brawny, tatted up Chris begins hanging out at the club, she rebuffs his advances. At first. But Chris isn’t like her usual clientele: despite his hard exterior, he’s almost…sweet.

Sometimes, the people with the roughest edges have the biggest hearts.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:

This is a short story but full of emotion and at times heat, passion. The two main characters need one another for completion of themselves but they just don’t know it. Each one is keeping secrets at first and I felt was scared of any type of relationship, and though the author has you believe that the guy is helping or saving the girl. I found that she is doing the same for him just subtle. A fast read but one the is worth your time. I got this book from netgalley. I give this 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerriews.com

HUBBY'S REVIEW:

This story opens with the two lead characters meeting each other after not seeing one another for years. He has pulled her over for reckless driving and during the course of getting or trying to find her ID and registration among all of her items in her car along with the bag of Cheetos and other junk food, she ends up hitting the officer. Jack Daniels the one who took the punch realizes that the now hot women is none other than his best friends little sister Chrissy, who is not the way he remembers her at all. Now he is able to take a punch being a MMA fighter on his off hours but can his heart and head. Read this fun and fast paced story of the past coming head on with the future and the both of them helping the other one in healing when they didn’t even know that is what they were doing. A very good book. I got this book from netgalley. I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

HUBBY'S REVIEW:

I have gotten to this book very late to do the review, but I must say it was a fast read when I did read it. Anthony Santini has left the Marines and is now with NCIS and is in Hawaii and the women he rents his place from Lalani Hawkins is not looking for any type of relationship, but she cannot help herself not to look at Anthony after he comes back from running. Knowing that, that is as far as she is willing to take things is OK with her. Her life has been full of heartache and loss and she does not want to think about a future with a guy that she has no chance at. What she doesn’t know is that Anthony can’t get her out of his mind and is trying to come up with ways to spend time with her even if it is acting like they are just running into each other. He thinks it is just a normal attraction not the male Santini cruse of when they find the right women for them. This is a fun and exciting story with good characters. I got this book from netgalley. I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

HUBBY'S REVIEW:

This is an old fashioned cook book taken mostly from either recipes from chuck wagons, restaurants, or ranches from the early 1900’s. I noticed quite a few dates of 1900- 1909. There are also some stories of trail life or life on a ranch, and there was one about Teddy Roosevelt when he was out west. The recipes themselves are just good old fashion stick to your ribs kind of food, and some of them reminded me of my grandmothers just simple but tasted good. I think being homemade had something to do with that. Has a sourdough starter, and even the pie crust and pancake are simple but remember they are using butter or lard so there is a different flavor. Some of the recipes also call for molasses which also has a different taste but a lot of people don’t use any more. I found this book to be a very good cookbook, and easy to follow directions. They both have so much to lose - will they be able to save each other . . . and survive?
HUBBY'S REVIEW:
This is the third book in the story. This one begins with Zoya finding out her one of her brothers is alive after being kidnapped when he was younger. Her brother thought she was killed along with the rest of his family, but she lived. When he finds out that she is alive he is also finding out that she has been taken prisoner by the women who was with the man they killed in the last book. She is being held in a dungeon and the man or beast that he calls himself goes by 194. During her captivity she finds compassion in her captor and he finds himself loving her something he thought would never happen. He then must find a way to get back to the home of her brother to somehow find help to rescue her. This is a book of passion, fighting for who you love, and fighting for your family. There is so much more but I would give it away. A very good book. I got this book from netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at: www.1rad-readerreviews.com
