Catching the Cowgirl (Cotton Creek #3)

CATCHING THE COWGIRL                          JENNIE MARTS

California video game designer Adam Clark knows that, in his business, authenticity is the key. So, for their newest Western adventure game, he and his partners decide to try out Cowboy Camp. Only Adam’s friends never arrive, leaving him a bit—okay, a lot—preoccupied, trying to resist the gorgeous cowgirl who owns the ranch.

Single mom Skye Hawkins is too busy trying to keep her family’s dude ranch out of the red to even think about romance. But she’s having trouble avoiding Adam. He’s smart, he’s sweet, he’s funny…and he’s hot! Maybe it’s the mountain air, but she finds herself letting down her guard. And the fireworks are definitely worth it.

The only problem—they live in totally different worlds. Still, Adam is nothing if not resourceful. Sure, he wants to catch the cowgirl. But more importantly, he needs to find a way to keep her.

PAT'S REVIEW

This book turned out to be a fast read and a very good story. Adam Clark is a video game designer and owns a company along with two of his friends from college. He is supposed to meet his partners at this dude ranch for ideas for their next game launch that is about the old west. The problem is that he finds out that because of the launch of their new game they are having some issues and the severs are crashing, so they won’t be making it for the week. Skye Hawkins owner of Dude ranch greets the guests, and after a short greeting introduces herself to Adam and explains to him that his friends won’t be coming because of a crash and she hopes that no one was hurt too seriously. When Adam tries to explain to her that the crash is about computers neither one of them are making any sense to the other one and this creates a very funny dialogue for part of the story. When they are together it is always an adventure. From the opening door of his cabin and a bat being inside, to later when on an horseback ride and overnight camp out and Adam gets thrown from his horse it is one thing after another, but they end up together until Skye is scared. Scared of feelings for Adam, for her son being missing for a few hours, scared that Adam lives in California, and why does she have feelings for a guy who wears glasses, converse, and is into computers. All things she knew nothing about at the beginning of the week. Adam comes up with a way to calm though fears and now it is up to Skye on what to do. This is a very good book, and I really liked the characters. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us atwww.1rad-readerreviews.com
