Once she found her forever home. The one she had with Dale and Lauren, she knew her days of moving around were over. It took Abby a long time to trust her parents, not to toss her back into the system again. No one understands the loneliness, abandonment, and mistrust issues children in the system have to face. It is a long hard struggle of change and no stability. It ate away at Abby.

When she met, Hank Wagner she told him that there was no sense in them becoming friends, because she’d be moving on soon. To her surprise, she didn't. She and, Hank dated for four years. The week before their breakup she was heartbroken over the hardest decision of her life. She had decided to tell, Hank about their dream of them being promised to each other, a house with a red door, a two chairs on the porch. And her being a teacher. Aren’t meant to be.

Well, being a teacher, is a sure thing. Everything else is a no. Abby had decided, she couldn't be that girl waiting around, for her man to come back for her. Which was a good, thing because it took him ten years to come, back to town. This tumbleweed may have physically moved from, the East Coast to, the Midwest of, Chicago closer to home. However, Hank kept blowing from one hotel in one country or another.

So, when they do reconnect a dinner date is not granted. Her fears are on full tilt. But, when he sees a guy hanging around, Abby he doesn't like what feelings that stirs up. Wilson is not a threat just, Abby’s colleague. This is such a good book. You see both make such a huge metamorphosis change by the end of the book that it's not until my husband and I are discussing it that I realize the impact of their changes and why, hit me. It causes waterworks for me.
1Rad-Reader59 Reviewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10262727749137984763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1925491224834472863.post-25482166873623963552023-09-10T16:22:00.000-07:002023-09-10T16:22:03.434-07:00

<div class="BookPageTitleSection" style="align-items: flex-start; Awesome right? Wrong! He's my brother's best friend and strictly off-limits! My hometown has been hit with a string of arson cases and my brother is the prime suspect. I’m back to report on the case and clear his name. But that means being forced to work alongside the last person I want to see …… Matt Reid! My brother's best friend and eternal jerk! But seeing him again. I had forgot how good he looks........ Forgotten how his t-shirt hugs his tattooed biceps...... Forgotten how he looks at me with hunger in those piercing blue eyes. Although I didn't want his help, I’m seeing a softer side of him I didn’t know he had, but Matt has a secret he’s been hiding. And he's not the only one! With the danger mounting, and the truth exposed, everything is going to be put to the test!

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> CHAR'S REVEIW

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Kate received the worst call any family member ever wants to receive, that their loved one has been injured, especially when it takes hopping a plane to get to them. The worst part for sure getting the call from her brother’s best friend, Matt, the same one since grade school. When she arrives she is a little in awe at seeing him look more like a man, than an adult teen she left behind.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">When she left she did hear from, Matt after one amazing college winter break. With her calls from her brother becoming fewer and fewer, she found it easier to slide right into her reporter's job and stay in New York. However, to hear Matt tell it, it was amazing. He never wanted her to leave. He gave her the final kiss but she left. Then she never responded to his text. So, now they are back together for the sack of Derek and who is behind the frame-up job.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Now, it will take all their attention to detail, and more to catch the people behind this horrible arson trail of blaze, the people are leaving. Meanwhile, someone made her brother the perfect scapegoat, when he was injured in the fire. Although she would like nothing more than to sit by Derek’s side until he wakes, the doctor says there is nothing that can be done at this time. His body needs to mend itself and meds take time to work.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Then, is when she knows what she has to do. He knew every stubborn hair on her head but he made a promise to her brother by his bedside. He would keep her safe and find his attempted killers. Little River is a hoot.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Asher, Tristan, and Liam are all three of, Bennett Nash’s best friends. This book starts, with Liam’s sister, Wren having set her sights on, dating again. If we consider how she became the wonderful mother of, River without ever dating, you can almost understand, her brother’s craziness. Wren was eighteen, naive, and, Kade at the time, Liam’s friend he took advantage. Then, skips town. Knowing she had a crush. However, the trauma of River’s birth and the complications afterward they almost lost her. Justifying, Liam’s battle cry, “I AM HER BIG BROTHER AND I NEED TO PROTECTOR FROM ALL GUYS.”

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Meanwhile, River is much older, and not only is, Liam important in his life so is, Bennett. Since Tristan had a wife and kids and, Asher was always baking, Bennett and, Liam hung out the most. Although, all four have a standard night, not they meet for drinks. It's then that, Liam finds out, that Wren has a date with a guy their age (6 years older,) that very night. Liam told the guys his mom needed him to check on something at the, shop because Wren had a date. Liam was, having none of that. Bennett was beyond uncomfortable hearing that, and he wanted to crush her date's head. Then, looking at his phone he sees who she was going to be going out with, and says no at least a half dozen times. Making Bennett nervous.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">He asks, why? He’s too old, he’s thirty-two. Bennett thinks hey, I’m thirty-two. Exactly, he knows the bad things he did back in the day. Bennett tells him, he passed the bar, don't you think he’s, ok. Wait. Why was, Bennett endorsing this guy? They are meeting at, Larkspur for a date? What do you think you’re going to do to stop it? “Have a little chat with, Lucas.” Bennet didn't like, Wren dating either because in his heart for years he had been in love with her.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">“You’re crossing the line. And if Wren ever finds out…” She’s not going to find out, he points at him and you are not going to tell her. Are you? Bennet says, “Liam, I’m telling you that it's wrong.” Bennett is concerned for, Wren. How would Wren feel? Would she see it as a rejection? That, Lucas stood her up for no apparent reason? In his head, he is protecting his sister by scaring off ALL her dates. What he doesn't understand is that he is chipping away at her as a woman by questioning her self-confidence, self-esteem, worthiness, and pride.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Things take an interesting turn when Bennett’s house gets flooded and he needs a place to stay. Liam calls Wren to see if, Bennett can stay there. She says, of course. What Liam doesn't know won’t hurt him, because she has had a crush on, Bennett for years. Not to mention, River and, Bennett love each other, and he will make a good role model to have around River. It's when Wren gets on a dating app things get weird.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Expect it to get hot under the sheets, tears, and a lot of laughter.
1Rad-Reader59 Reviewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10262727749137984763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1925491224834472863.post-29911665461167471702023-09-10T13:10:00.000-07:002023-09-10T13:10:37.163-07:00

You see no one, but, Tristan knows his identity, as a romance writer. That is because, Tristan’s wife, Tessa had been his beta reader. In lies the problem, she passed away out of the blue, devastating everyone beyond belief. Tessa was part of the core four, and not because she was married to, Tristan, nope. It's because back in the day she went on every adventure, with the boys. She was their ride-or-die girl.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">That being said, Liam had to put out his next book, and his first book without, Tessa. Still dealing with her loss, leaving him grieving, and feeling vulnerable. Unfortunately, it showed in his writing. The readers were saying, his writing was lacking his spark, and the sex scenes were unoriginal. So, the volume doesn't matter, creativity does. Got it. He knew one book wouldn’t make or break his career. At least that’s what he keeps trying to tell himself anyway. He’s had twenty good books he has to be positive. He has nobody to talk to about his writing anymore, or kick hit but when he hits a slump.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">He understands the air of mystery was part of the allure of his success and readers. However, he knows that’s not the reason he is still hiding his identity. The real reason is, that his grandfather the Mayor, and the man whom he had always looked up to, had told him that he was ashamed of him. That he wasn’t a real man because he, wrote p-rn for a living. Crushing Liam's heart but making him even more determined to succeed. At thirty-two he was feeling so alone. One friend passed, one friend grieving her madly, one married his sister, and the other is baking his heart out.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">He and, Asher are going to have dinner in the bar at the winery where Asher, is working late. Everyone in town seems to be preparing, for the biggest wedding ever to happen in, Alondra Valley. No expenses were spared. What would you expect, from a billionaire and an author? That's right, one like him, a romance writer, Penelope Glass who is obsessed with him, Meghan Hart. As they're waiting for the check there is a flash of a woman in white with flowing material going past him.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1e1915; font-family: "Proxima Nova", Montserrat, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Her scent of peppermint and eucalyptus hung in the air as her hair was bouncing and swaying. He was so mesmerized by her for a moment no one else existed. The story has Ginny, a forty-year-old woman arriving at a wedding shower not wanting to go in but noticing a naked guy dressing in the parking lot. Getting her attention right away she goes towards him and once he finishes dressing they introduce themselves, she helps with his tie and yet they each find the other attractive.
Though Josh is working the event he continues to look for Ginny and when they are free he finds her to dance. When he finds out about her ex they agree to one stand in order for her to wipe away her ex. Weeks later though she finds herself pregnant after telling Josh and saying no to his proposal the story still has many fine moments between the two of them with her learning to cook from him and going to yoga which she never thought she would do. Though he is still in love with her after the third proposal and yet another rejection, he leaves once again. She, of course, being older than his twenty-five years feels like he would be giving up his dream and she wants him to go, not realizing that maybe she and the baby are his dreams now. This book will keep you going from page to page once you start it and with all of the characters in the book you have enough to like and dislike as you go along. A very good story about life and very much worth the read.
1Rad-Reader59 Reviewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10262727749137984763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1925491224834472863.post-36914846002011624722022-01-25T22:42:00.000-08:002022-01-25T22:42:20.689-08:00
Branded

(Joe Noose #3)

BRANDED ERIC RED

A new kind of evil has come to the Old West. They part ways but you hope they met up again. Joe is trying to find the killer of the rustlers of the herd he is with because there is a man from Texas that does not want the female owner to make it to market. There is also someone else on her team that wants them dead as well. This part of the story is full of action and keeps you going throughout the book.
The other part of the story happens with Bess and what is happening back in her town and with some of the wives who have left their husbands because they were being beaten. This part of the story is really interesting and only adds to the whole book and makes up for some moments on the cattle drive that might not be so interesting. Between both, you have a very good book with wonderful characters. Very much worth the read. The trap works, leaving three intruders dead, a body count that nearly includes Eve and Duncan.

PAT'S REVIEW

We are back with Eve and her partner Duncan. They are working a case undercover and driving a fancy Rolls SUV. Arriving at the house that they are using in a gated community working on solving home robberies Duncan hopes that the gig lasts for another week or so. Eve of course is wanting something to happen and when it does it catches both of them by surprise. The quickness of everything has her and one suspect upstairs where the safe is when he is not paying attention she draws her weapon, he leaps out of the second-story window to dive into the pool, he misses and makes a mess on the cement next to the pool. Duncan shoots another suspect and the third takes off carjacks a woman and ends up at a grocery store. Meanwhile, Eve is giving chase in the Rolls, and of course, there is damage when she arrives at the store, running in she is looking for the suspects and when thinking she has him he is shot and killed by a security guard.
This is just the beginning of the story, of course, there is a lot more, Eve is still dealing with the fallout from the last book in happened. She does not like the way everything ended up with this crime scene, and then in the same gated community, a woman looks to have lost her child. So much is going on yet it all works. Work is the key for if she continues at her pace she will die of stress. A very good book with very good characters. With always the same results, avoidance then back to, their jovial selves.

Now, years have gone by, both have joined the military, together. Both are to leave, on their second, tour and once again, Josh gets shot down, in another relationship. He goes drinking, they call her to pick him up, they bed each other. Now, on the way to the base to deploy, which takes a few, days of driving. Nadia changes the unwritten rule, of avoidance.

Say what? Blowing, Josh out of his mind, and into a panic. This could ruin, their friendship, doesn’t she get it? He ruins, all his relationships? By not talking, he doesn’t get he’s doing, the same thing? See how these, long-time friends, who have caught feelings, while just being benefits, work out their differences.

Enjoyed this (sexually active), just friends couple. It’s funny to see them, really talk in circles yet, see the anger hit the peak, and dissipate. Funny, awkward moments. The “will they or won’t they”? And so much tension and steam it'll make you sweat! Don’t miss out on the book readers are saying they "inhaled in one day" and they "couldn’t put down!"

One thousand dollars.

I wasn’t supposed to bid at Westbury’s Bachelor Auction. In fact, I was hosting the event when I decided to lean into the microphone and yell out that ridiculous amount.

I blame Bridezilla's stupid text (oops, I mean my sister). It made me lose my mind. I’m pleading for temporary insanity.

Then Griz walked out on stage. He’s one of Westbury’s elite jocks. A hockey boy. A Warrior. He came out looking all tall, dark, and smug-exy. With his broad shoulders, towering height, and hotter than hell face, he was just too perfect. I could just imagine my sister’s face, her jaw on the floor, seeing him in a suit on my arm.

Whew. Is it hot in here or just me?

Bridezilla assumed I wouldn’t need a plus-one for her wedding. Why? Because I’m the curvy girl. The one who never quite measured up against her blonde perfection. My whole life she's made me feel like a red-headed freaking potato and… I dunno, I lost my senses.

Griz will be the perfect fake boyfriend to take to her wedding. I've just got to keep my real feelings in check. It'll be fine. As long as I don’t fall for his intense eyes, his chiseled muscles, or his big teddy-bear smile...

I think I’m in trouble.

MY REVIEW

<table border="0" cellspacing="1" class="myActivity" style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Lato, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; table-layout: fixed; width: 100%px;">

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it won’t be my last if I can help it. The characters were not only fun, funny, and interesting they seem to pull you in right away. They are just relatable and true to life.

Hattie had spent most of her life experiencing being invisible to even her own family who are picture perfect according to media standards leaving her feeling odd man out and isolated being a double-digit in clothing all her life. It is not only that her sister looks exactly like her parents with blonde hair, thin, and tall yet, she is short with flaming red hair. So, dating is hard because she of the mind now that she is on her own she is not changing for any man. She likes herself.

When she spearheads a charity auction and Etta says they should ask the hockey players she seems surprised because she had never thought of them. Now, Etta has several ins to getting them to say yes. You see her brother Griz for Grizzly Bear because he is so big with a beard and tattoos he can look mean on the ice. She also has her boyfriend Gucci on the team too.

Let’s just say when all the guys get together to hear Hattie out Griz and her eyes meet several times. But, Griz has sworn off woman because he is determined to focus on hockey after a scare during Christmas break. But when Hattie bids for him at the auction at way above the highest bid she is even surprised.

All because her bridezilla of sister texts her during the auction confining she doesn’t have a plus one. That is when the madness begins and this big bomb of her assuming not only hurts but pisses her off. Which now kicks it up a notch. The blending of these two characters and Griz being Hattie’s stars to her moon. For the first time, they are most real with each other bringing a whole new level of what real is.

Can’t wait for Blaze’s story that it has not only to follow up on Griz and Hattie but the same level of energy and passion this book does. Allie decided that she wanted to break away from her family’s way of life of being judged by others by wealth, pedigree, and standing. She does want to see them for those things that truly count for inner wellness.

She needs to find her true self after college. So, she leaves Malibu and heads to Eden Lake more mountains living clean air, and fewer people. More of a zen feel. Her next-door neighbor is a homegrown boy. The playboy of Eden Lake and a firefighter too. She knew his type and planned on staying far away from him. He and his brother are very friendly. In fact, his older brother, Wyatt is the sheriff in town. Nice looking but no sparks but damn she gets a spark from Josh. Does not make her happy especially when he is in her yoga class for first responders to help reduce stress.

It’s not until Allie decides to go hiking alone which is a no-no and Josh sees her car there alone and it is starting to get dark. Mind you he had just offered to take her on this same trail the day before so he knew it was new to her so he stopped his jog to investigate. Good thing because she had fallen and injured herself, she was out cold. Leading to her asking him to be her fake fiancé for her cousins' wedding.

This story is funny, intense, a life lesson, and sad all at the same time. But most of all you get your HEA. The way the author takes you through it, it makes it more believable that’s for sure and she does a beautiful job of it. But while she is in college Connor had become a womanizer. Maybe being a fitness trainer has something to do with that and the new body he is sporting. She didn’t know, but not having a steady boyfriend after being dumped, a year ago may have something to do with that.

Her awareness of him is astute now that is for sure. Not to mention Connor’s reputation proceeds him. So, when her besties, Hannah, Meg, and Katelyn start talk about finding her a rebound one and done her thoughts shoot to Connor because she couldn’t possibly think of having the experience with anyone as they suggest, if she didn’t share a personal connection with them or that she was in love with them.

When sparks start to fly one morning when Connor realizes that his friend Vance’s baby sister has a figure to die for as well as breast. He wanted to know when she got those because he didn’t remember them. One kiss set fire through both of them that said that it was not a harmless little kiss. For Connor, it was the most disturbing he for the most part is a one and done. With Meadow that kiss carried weight. He couldn’t stop thinking about her. And he truly found that comfortable.

This was such an endearing story of two people who took a chance on the feeling they got while being together. Finding out that taking the crazy chance on love was scary when thinking about others and their reaction but not how they felt for one another. Totally taken in by this story and the bonds of friendship that holds this couple and trio together of two good friends, siblings, and two lovers.

A book received during July-Aug. book giveaway.

1Rad-Reader59 Reviewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10262727749137984763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1925491224834472863.post-72651768874889458052021-01-31T11:13:00.005-08:002021-01-31T11:13:42.134-08:00Fantasy Hockey
FANTASY HOCKEY JAYMEE JACOBS

Sydney can't believe that famous hockey player Joshua Green is a regular at her favorite coffee shop, and she's astounded when he approaches her. After the opening pages with the man driving away with a young girl in the back seat of his car, then she hears the explosion of her home you the reader know you are in for a ride. Really though it only gets better. For after that it is not Jenna and Dave, but Jo and Cater the new team and they call in Wolfe. Jenna and Dave well at least Dave is bored and soon they are called in to help Jo and Carter.
When later it is discovered that who was thought to be the D.C. bomber who killed Dave’s wife and changed his life forever. Was not the person, no that person they think or at least Carter thinks is the man who destroyed this family’s home and took the young girl. Dave goes into a metal funk turning white and Jenna helps to say he gets migraines at times. He doesn’t even know how Carter got some of the information he has for it was to be classified way above his pay grade.
Once the girl is found at the bottom of the falls this sets off another set of events and throughout this story, they are steps behind the person. You feel like you the reader should know who the person is and will be surprised when you find out. I also thought Carter would make the connection with Kane but never did. You finally get an end to Dave’s past he can bury finally his wife. Maybe, just maybe there might be something with him and Jenna for he did not like Carter sniffing around.
Another fantastic story that will keep you wanting to stay up late at night at least I did read this book once you start. Again, all of the characters are good and very much worth the read. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Since then he’s opened Silverstone Towing—which is a front for his other job: hired killer. When kindergarten teacher Skylar Reid calls for help while stranded on the side of the interstate, the attraction is instant. The problem is Bull’s career has jaded him. Skylar’s innocent, and he wants to keep her that way.

Cautious by nature, Skylar never expected to fall in love with her tow truck driver. Even so, once Bull reveals what he really does for a living, she’s not sure she can handle it. When Skylar faces threats that have nothing to do with Bull’s job but are just as deadly, the stakes are higher than ever.

With the help of the Silverstone team, Bull will use everything he’s learned over the years to bring the woman he loves home—because the alternative is unthinkable.

PAT'S REVIEW

<table border="0" cellspacing="1" class="myActivity" style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Lato, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; table-layout: fixed; width: 100%px;">

The author's new series starts with the end of Raven’s book from the Mountain Mercenaries. Returning from their mission to take out the man who had taken his friend's wife and kidnaped many others, he remembers back to his last mission with Delta and how they ended up leaving the Army. When they started Silverstone, he never thought it would have gotten so big but the towing service has grown which is a cover for their real job.
Once back he goes out on a run with one of the original trucks to help a stranded driver. Once there he goes into security mode on the woman but he is still coming down from the mission. Helping with her car getting towed to a shop to be repaired he also follows her home when the shop owner gives her a loaner car.
Skylar is really caseous in life and can’t believe that she is attracted to a man like Carson “Bull” Rhodes. As the story moves along you see the two of them have a connection but Bull is afraid when she finds out what they really do she will bolt. That is what happens but she has her own problems happening as well when she tries to stop someone from taking one of her students. She also gets a different look at real-life from her neighbor. Overall, I really liked this book and all of the characters including the back story. A very good first book to start a series with. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. What you find out is surprising
What she finds out is that she does not want to leave and as much as she keeps telling Rex he does not listen he stays still wanting her and when finding out her secret he even surprises her then as well for he is in love with this woman. The book is intense and has moments where you can’t believe yet I do and at the end, you not only get the revenge you want but also the setup for the author's next series. Overall a very good book, just sorry to see these characters leave. I got this book from Amazon. Find everything from classics like Apple Pie and Pumpkin Pie to more inspired recipes like Birthday-Cake Pie and Caramel Pork Pie with Chile and Scallions.
Erin also suggests recommended pie doughs and toppings with each recipe for infinitely customizable pies: Mix and match Pumpkin Spice Pie Dough and Dark Chocolate Drippy Glaze with the Pumpkin Pie, or sub in the Chive Compound-Butter Crust for the Croque Madame Pielets . . . the possibilities are endless. The opening begins with the tools you need then the different types of materials, sugar, flour, butter, lard, water, and all of the ingredients. Also, the types of pie plates and the different sizes of each and why each one is made the way they are.
She takes you through the reason why your dough may have come out wrong. You are shown pictures of good dough and then the different kinds if it is too wet, to dry, and whatever else could be wrong with it. You are walked through the different tops, edges, and just anything else you can think of. She also shows what you can do with the scraps that are leftover. One idea was making littles doughnuts.
There is so much to this book that my words do not give it justice but this book is worthy of cooks, bakers shelf. The pictures are great but the recipes and all of her little secrets are what make this book. She also has gluten-free and vegan recopies as well. A very good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. You see the guy who most might call an Adonis, she had noticed him earlier. When he was leaving the restroom, she was thinking he is gorgeous.
