Duke City Desperado (Lawbreakers Thriller, #3)
Under a sky full of stars, Dylan James lies sleeping on the roof of a pueblo-style house. He’s a fugitive, and everyone in Albuquerque seems to be looking for him. A murderous Mafia prince wants to kill him. Two FBI agents want to cuff him. A Goth girl wants to make love to him. And a fierce, sexy Chicana just wants to clean up the mess Dylan made.

The trouble started with a drug-addled career criminal named Doc and a bank robbery staged with a garage door opener. Then it all goes off the rails after a little misunderstanding with Dylan’s ex-girlfriend and her jealous, gun-toting new beau.

When the sun comes up, this sleepy, scrawny desperado is going to show the world what he’s made of—all for a one-in-a-million shot at walking out of Duke City alive.

HUBBY'S REVIEW:
Duke City Desperado, starts with Dylan James listening to his partner Doc talk and talk on just about every subject there is. Doc being high for four days. Doc then gets a brilliant idea of robbing a bank but at the teller window. Dylan after a few minutes realizing that it is going nowhere bolts out of the van and there starts the book and how through a series of events Dylan keeps evading the law. He does pick up some other unwanted people looking for him besides the police and the FBI. The two new criminals after him are having the same luck as the police none. What really makes this story work is all of the characters. Two of the FBI agents or from the first book now having recovered from their wounds but not from the loss of one bank robber and the money from that first robbery. Now Pam Willis, the female agent fearing that her career is shot because they can’t find this guy and will be stuck in Albuquerque. Her partner Hector, in more than work is okay with that since this is his home town and wants to stay but does not want her to leave but does not tell her this because she might shot him at that moment. The next group of characters I really liked was Rosa and her “chicas” these were some bad ass girls but dressed liked they were going out to a night club but really looking for the guy how hit Rosa’s sister Carmen, and when they found him which they did they put a whoop ass on him and his driver when they found them. That scene was priceless he also spoke of one of her girls tired of getting beat what’d until her husband came home drunk tied him up and then when he was sober beat him with a tortilla pan (which is cast iron) until her arm got tired. In court all of the girls said she could not have done it since they were all together, he then moved to Alaska. Did have a friend after many years wait and hit her husband over the head with a cast iron frying pan so she could leave so I know that happens to a lot of women. On with the story still the two guys don’t press charges because they don’t want to admit to be beat up by women. Don’t want to give away the ending but like his other books another fantastic story that I was able to read in one day. A great book. I got this book from net galley.   I give this 5 stars.
