Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

MY REVIEW
This is a modern Cinderella story at its height of hilarious dysfunction.  Brock (Boring) Wellington 38, is the apple of his grandfather’s eye.  Only because he’s a kickass basically at least if you were to hear it from his twin other’s Bentley and Brant that is exactly how they see it.  Nothing less they a yes man.
He became his grandfather’s yes man when he found out their parents died.  No one knows why just that it he has terrible guilt over it.  He can physically not say, “NO” to their grandfather.  No matter what it cost him personally.  Which, over the years has been a lot.
When, his grandfather fell ill he took over the business he never in a million years wanted and has resented ever since.  But does and is good at.  Just like in his twenties he dressed in suits and went to the college his grandfather wanted him too.  Nothing ever for himself.  He even dated the girls his grandfather thought was best.  So, when his grandfather announced his was having a bachelor auction it didn’t surprise him but what did is that he would auction him off for a date.  He meets the girl of his dreams while the announcement is made at the spring-off party.  Actually he rescues her.  Like Cinderella she leaves before he can get her full name or where she lives.  She’s lost to him forever.  All he can think about is his Cinderella.
It turns out Jane 22, has attended said event under protest with her wanna-be evil older sisters.  Esmeralda and Essence.  Both lawyers if you can believe it.  If you go by their behavior I would surely say not.  They are mean and both live totally beyond their means and expect, (Plain) Jane as the call her, to bail them out on the earnings she makes from her business, “Cinderella Cleaning.”  A business her father left her before he passed away, but it was becoming too much for her.  With them taking their coworkers out for drinks and charging it, charging for what they called fashion forward clothing, and some other off the chart items.
On top of it all they left all the housework for her and the cooking as well as errands.  So, when they were at this over glam party that she was trying so hard to hide in the shadows for.  Although, Brock and Bentley had noticed her, of the sisters decides she needs a rest and without asking grabs her to make her dance with the other sister.  Ripping her dress and knocking her to the ground.  Brock seeing this happen goes to her rescue.  She tries to stand breaking the heel of her shoe and that is when Brock catches her scooping her into his arms and whisking her away into the empty room set aside for them.
Brock sends Bentley off to Saks across the street to buy her a new pair of shoes.  She’s so embarrassed.  But Brock feels so alive for the first time since he was twelve.  They go back and forth about her shoes but then notices she needs help maybe with her dress too.  When Bentley returns with her shoes.  She’s in shock since they are “Red Bottom’s” she wants to scream because she knows they are worth more than her car.  She’s attracted to Brock but knows he is being auctioned off.  She decides to leave.  He drinks himself into a stupor knowing what he is facing with this auction.
But he asks his grandfather for a guest list he needs to find “Just Jane” as she called herself.  When his grandfather lays out the next phase of his plan for him to go three weeks to his ranch the ranch that would become his when he marries.  His grandfather had plans that were not something he wanted and his brothers were trying to force his hand to get him to tell his grandfather “NO” but he was not following the program.
He doesn’t know it but his grandfather hired Cinderella Cleaning too ready the house over the next three weeks.  So the owner would be living on grounds too.  What a surprise for the both of them.

Can this be as simple and uncomplicated as it sounds?  Afraid not.  See what his grandfather has up his sleeve.  Bentley and Brant add so much spice to the story they just give it life.  They just make you giggle thinking about it.  Can’t wait for the next promised book for sure.  I give this 5 stars.  Provided by netgalley.com.  Follow us at:  www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
