He was right. A federal marshal now, with a very wide scope of investigation, he’s heard rumors that Grant has found her seat on the Senate intelligence committee, and the contacts she’s made from it, to be very…useful. Pinning those rumors down was likely to be just as difficult as before, and considerably more dangerous.
But they had unfinished business, he and Grant. One way or the other, he was going to see it through to the end.

| In this book, you have Lucas Davenport who is now a U.S. Marshall going after an old foe in Taryn Grant. She was from the book Silken Prey and though at first, he does not want to believe that she is involved with the accident at the beginning of the book the more he finds that it is possible. When someone tries to hurt him he is sure of it. Now it is one thing to think it but you must get the evidence to prove such things. This story has you going from D.C. to West Virginia, back to Minnesota and back to D.C. and just when you think you know where it is going it changes on you. That is what keeps these books so entertaining that they are unexpected and done in a way that makes you continue to read the next page instead of putting the book down. I liked all of the characters especially a new female agent Rae who added humor to the story at times. Overall a very good book to go along with all of the others.
