EXQUISITELY BROKEN

EXQUISITELY BROKEN                      M. JAY GRANBERRY

What happens in Vegas…?

Sinclair James wasn’t from my world.
She didn’t have my pedigree or family money.
She was everything I never wanted,
Everything I now realize I needed.
I loved her for six years, her soul, her body, her music.

Until I threw it all away.

One decision changed everything.
One decision destroyed what we had.

She slipped from my life as quietly as she had stolen my heart
But now she’s back.

Sinclair is still mine, she just doesn’t know it yet.
This time I’m not letting her go.

So, what happens in Vegas…?

A second chance to repair what was broken.

MY REVIEW:

This story is about a sexually charged couple who were attracted to each other on sight and their chemistry was off the charts.  Four years ago, after being in a relationship for six years, since college, it comes to a harsh ending.  Being that he is still in school working on his MBA.  She, on the other hand, is in a band whose star is rising.
The thing is Sin is on the road all the time.  Her ex-roommate, Tina says she will keep an eye on things while she’s away making sure he keeps on the straight.  She never puts any of their past conversations together.  Looking back, she sees where she went wrong and wishes she had, I’m sure.
Because after being on the road for about six months and one night having a late start for a gig.  She called late, so not being able to call Jake on time, he was either icing her out, sleeping, or she was afraid to think her worst nightmare with another woman.  The next day she leaves messages, texts but nothing.  She is worried that Jake has had enough of waiting around for her.
So, when the tour gets cut short and she comes home early to find said ex-roommate in their bed all cuddled up next to Jake the one they share together.  Let’s just say she is devastated.  She is a child of the foster care system.  A throwaway child and something Jake just reinforced by his actions by not ending things the proper way.  He didn’t even have the courtesy to end their relationship before he brought her best friend in.
At least someone she thought was her best friend.  He said it was just to get her to notice him.  He was feeling neglected over her music.  He was lonely and Tina was a randie. (A random piece of ass.)  Yet, he was upset when he finds out that she secretly moves out stealthily day by day while he’s away.  But especially that she was moving in with Adam her best friend since the foster home days.
I enjoyed this story of a second chance yet there were a lot of unanswered questions.  From some of the main characters.  One being…will there be a second book to tell us what happens to things like how Jake’s family reacted?
This is to name a few. I know that in some of the things it would or could put the HEA in jeopardy, so I understand.  But other than that, it was a fast, entertaining, and made to think and feel read.  Fun second chance read.
I give this: 4 stars.  Provided by netgalley.com.
