The Bet (The Bet, #1)"I have a proposition for you." Kacey should have run the minute those words left Seattle millionaire Jake Titus's mouth. It's been years since Kacey's seen her childhood friend Jake, but the minute Jake mentions his ill grandmother, Kacey is ready to do anything for the sweet old woman. And if that means pretending they're engaged for her sake-so be it.

But Kacey wasn't counting on Jake's older brother Travis still being there. She calls him "Satan" for a reason: she's never forgotten the way he teased and taunted her. Yet when they meet again, Travis's gorgeous smile is a direct hit to her heart . . . and Kacey's more confused than ever. As the days pass, only one thing starts to become alarmingly clear-she never should have accepted Jake's deal . . .

MY REVIEW:
Read back in July of 2013
I did not just love this book, I beyond loved this book. I laughed so hard at the triangle friendship and love affair without a love affair. They each had, without having one, until the choices were finally made at the end. The childhood antics as well as what they get themselves into as adults were so funny that I had to catch myself laugh hysterically out loud.
In the very next moment feeling so sad for what the emotions meant to one of the other characters in the same scene. This is one of the most endearing books with one of the most loving and funny cast of characters that I cannot wait until the next book comes out The Wager.
Kacey is the girl next door to Travis and Jake his little brother by two years. Kacey is Jake's best friend that Travis has loved forever. But with his stuttering problem and his little brothers charm and dashing good looks Travis has never felt he had a chance. But when the boys were 8 and 6 years old they made a bet after once again when Travis had made Kacey cry, trying to rescue her with a fabricated rescue situation he created and it backfired again. They bet that when each one of them grew up they would be the one to marry her and the other would have to pay the winner a million dollars.
Will it be the dashing Jake or stuttering Travis? You will have to read and see.  I gave this book 5 stars.  PROVIDE BY NET GALLEY.
