Author of:
Aspiring writer Kelli Dalton needs a man, and fast. When she’s rear-ended by a sexy-as-sin biker on the way to a Vegas romance readers convention, she sees her chance. If he’ll pose as her fake boyfriend long enough to impress a bestselling author, Kelli has a shot at saving the bookstore for underprivileged kids she runs back home.

Quinn Anderson doesn’t know what to make of the cute little writer who stirs his heart and his libido, but he does know he wants to get better acquainted. And if that means keeping up their sexy ruse all week, he’s game.

Quinn knows girl like Kelli deserves someone with a secure future to help with her store, not a guy struggling to turn a profit on his chopper shop. But if his motorcycle designs win the big Vegas competition, he’ll have enough prize money to fund his dreams…and hers.

Rad-Reader:  Why this Storyline and not something not connected to authors?

Teri:  My publisher came up with this idea—a bunch of stories centered around a romance convention. I sent a writing sample and got selected, and this is the story that we came up with!

Rad-Reader:  Have you gone to one of these conventions?  Are they anywhere close to what you describe in the story?

Teri:  Yes, and yes. I’ve been to the Romantic Times convention, which is OMG huge, and the Lori Foster Reader/Author Get Together, which is much smaller, but still filled with lots of interesting people. Of course my fictional group is a little exaggerated, but there are definitely a lot of hard core romantics at these things!
Rad-Reader:  I am planning on going to my first one in Oct. in Burbank.  I cannot wait. :)

Rad-Reader:  I love the contrast that you gave between Kellie’s two worlds.  She had her real world and her fantasy world.  Do all writers have that contrast or do you believe we all do?

Teri:  I have no idea! I know that I walk around thinking about conversations between imaginary people, and I haven’t been dragged off by men in white coats yet…so maybe I’m not alone.
Rad-Reader:  I would say you are not even close!

Rad-Reader:  Kellie was fighting so hard for that bookstore that she was willing to boost her writing skills to help meet her goals.  Yet, when she met Quinn she kind of lost sight of that.  Yet, in the end he brought her to her goal.  What was it, that meaning?  Of the store, that it was a family store, or that the landlord wanted her gone so she dug in no matter what, or her writing?

Teri:  I think Kellie went to this convention to figure out exactly what she really wanted. It was kind of a quest—was she really cut out to be a writer?

Rad-Reader:  Quinn really had some insecurity issues about what Kellie would feel about him being a struggling business owner. Why when he knew she was one?

Teri: His parents and his ex-wife really did a number on him. Everyone else he’d cared about told him he wasn’t good enough unless he was living up to their standards. Why should he think Kellie would be any different?
Rad-Reader:  The two of them seem to click right off the bat.  Their sense of humor was the thing that stood out to me.  They got each other when no one else did.  What was that first connecting moment in the beginning for each of them do you think?

Teri:  Hmm. I guess when she calls him her Zeus and he doesn’t get weirded out about it. He’s just like, “Okay,” and gives her the benefit of the doubt. He doesn’t judge her!
Rad-Reader: For me it was when he first agreed to be her fake date. He saw her vulnerable side.

Rad-Reader:  The whole convention was just so funny.  But that Quinn was willing to put himself out there was the best.  How did you come up with putting him in Toby’s pants?  Too Funny!

Teri:  That was one of those things that just kind of sprang from my muse.

Rad-Reader:  Quinn had such a good heart like his father how did he come from the mother from he--?  Kellie though seemed to handle her rather well and endeared herself to all at the dinner.  How did that happen?

Teri:  Quinn’s mom suffered from frustrated expectations. I don’t think she was a selfish mean person, she was just an alcoholic who didn’t know how to communicate. And Kellie probably saw that—that’s her gift. Understanding people.
Rad-Reader: Okay, when you put it that way...

Rad-Reader:  Did Quinn see his dad’s true heart and true dream and knew he could not follow the family business and end up discontented like his father?

Teri:  I think that’s exactly what he saw in his dad. He knew the man loved him, but knew he couldn’t wear those shoes.

Rad-Reader:  His dad knew what he himself gave up is that why he never sweated the payments when Quinn felt he needed to pay it back. His dad was never the one to ask him too. Why did he feel a need to pay it back?

Teri:  Quinn’s a hero!
Rad-Reader:  Every girl needs a Quinn!

Rad-Reader:  If you book was made into a movie who would you want to play…

Teri:  Wow, great choices!
Okay…

Rad-Reader:  What song out today do you think describes your book best?
Lee Brice: I don't Dance
Quinn was willing to do anything for Kellie even dance.

Teri:  Okay, can I just say that I Don’t Dance is one of my absolute favorite songs? I do love Lee Brice. His song “I Drive Your Truck” was the inspiration for my book Drunk on You (yeah, okay, Lee Brice song, Luke Bryan title. Don’t judge).

Anyway.

There’s a song that the people at Entangled Music put together as a special request, and that I mention in Accidentally In Love With the Biker:
"Dubthat2Step"
It’s awesome!

Rad-Reader:  What is your next project & when is it coming out?

Teri:  I’m finishing up my second Bourbon Boy book (the first is Drunk on You) which is called A Shot With You, and should be released in November. I’m also hoping to release my second romantic suspense sometime soon—hopefully in the summer. That one will be Deadly Interactions, and is the sequel to my very first novel, Deadly Chemistry!

Rad-Reader:  When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

Teri:  It was always one of those “maybe someday I’ll try to write a book” things, but I was so busy doing other things (I’m compulsively crafty!) that it took a crocheting injury (seriously. I crocheted too much and couldn’t use my arm for a long time) to get me to slow down enough to give writing a shot.

Thanks so much for inviting me to do this interview! I’m so thrilled that so many people like AiLwtBiker. It was a fun book to write.

You were such a sport.  Me and my thyroid brain thought I had sent Teri this weeks in advance but I must have gotten up to do something or gotten a call and closed out the email so it went to draft.  When I got back on it wasn't there so I thought I sent it so on Monday of this week I sent Teri a reminder about the interview and that I will need her things so I could do the promos and the mock up for today's interview.  Well, I get this kind note saying I just can't seem to find the questions I must have lost them.  I say wow I don't know what happened but here they are again.  But all night it bugged me like something was just not right.  So I started looking through all my back email.  We had been having problems with our internet and then our computer awhile back so I thought not again...
Then this morning in the shower it hits me.  You didn't check the draft section of your emails.  Got out of the shower grabbed my phone that I had on my shelf and check and there it was.  I sent Teri and email as I was dripping wet saying how sorry I was and there sat a note say here is everything you need.  This wonderfully kind woman finished all the questions and had all the things needed to complete the promos and the interview for tonight.  So thank you from the bottom of my heart for this mix up and my crazy brain and you may not want it but you too are now part of 1 Rad Reader's misfits. Come by and visit with us anytime.
Char :)
