TROPHY WIFE

TROPHY WIFE                                                  NOELLE ADAMS

Alison Davies used to just be a trophy wife. Now she’s just flat broke. Thanks to an ironclad prenup, she’s worse off than she was before the day she rushed down the aisle with a wealthy jerk eight years ago. After her steep fall from riches to rags, Alison refuses to shackle herself to any man who treats her like a possession—no matter how good he looks in a pair of well-worn jeans, or how his muscles ripple while he’s carrying her couch.

Underneath his rugged exterior, Rob West is a gentleman. So when he sees his beautiful new neighbor moving in, he’s going to help her out no matter how loudly she protests. In fact, Alison’s determination to go it alone just strengthens his resolve—and his desire to find out what makes her tick. But after one spur-of-the-moment tumble in the sheets, it’s clear that their connection goes way deeper. And that Rob won’t be happy until Alison surrenders to the passion they share.

MY REVIEW:
When we think of coming of age and going out on our own we always think about being about eighteen.  So, what happens when you were raised with money and all the best?  Then, your parents lose it all and an older man twice your age basically buys you to be his trophy wife.  You being young and thinking he is thinking of you as beautiful and maybe sexy and we he was a friend of your father’s.  So, you go along for the ride in luxury.
That is until you realize eight years later you sold your soul to the devil.  No, he never treated you bad but he never treated you like a human being only like an object.  Since Allison Davies, to leave before ten years she would get nothing per the prenup.  Which when it came down to it was perfectly fine with her.
Allison was so lucky to have a friend Vicki that she could stay with until the renters in her home could move out and her divorce was final.  You see her parents they had already both passed away.  Leaving her the property her grandmother had left to them.  A home sitting on an acre of land in Fielding North Carolina.
On her first day moving in she meets her new across the street neighbor, the sexy, Rob West.  He is the owner of West Hardware.  He is pretty much the go-to guy in town.  In fact, he is the guy that helps Allison get her waitressing job at Dora’s cafĂ©.  He’s also the guy all the single gals want.  But he has the ex-wife from hell.
From day one on the job when he left her a note on a napkin to inspire her day.  When she looked, tired and defeated already in order to lift her up.  Sparks seemed to fly.
See what happens.  Very cute story.  See how we all tend to pigeon hole ourselves into roles we don’t belong in.  In order to either protect our damaged feelings, hides or pride  I give this book: 4 stars.  Provided by netgalley.com.  Follow us at:
