The Attraction Equation (Love Undercover #2)

THE ATTRACTION EQUATION                   KADIE SCOTT

FBI agent Max Carter lives his life by a strict set of rules—rules that don't allow for distraction, deviation…or a relationship. But tell that to his matchmaking mama. To avoid yet another set-up, he announces he has a girlfriend. And now has to produce said girlfriend at Christmas dinner. Maybe Santa has a suitable actress in that red bag of his…

Gina Castillo is about to break her building’s iron-clad “no pets” policy to give her little brother the perfect Christmas gift—a dog. Too bad Max, the most inconveniently sexy tenant in the building, catches her red handed. Gina expects to be evicted, but instead finds herself blackmailed into playing the role of his girlfriend.

Two lies plus one dog should equal a hot mess of a holiday, but attraction and Christmas magic might just defy the rules…

PAT'S REVIEW

Max Carter is an FBI agent and lives by a set of rules, his rules. He has is coffee at a certain time, the same place, and so on. So on Thanksgiving at his parents’ house, he panics and tells his mother that for Christmas he is bringing a date. His girlfriend. Not having one does not seem important to him at this moment, just leaving and dealing with it all later. Once back at his apartment building he notices someone by his neighbor’s doors and he realizes that she has a dog hiding under her coat. Gina Castillo is the opposite of Max and is first breaking the apartment’s rule of no animals. Worried about losing her friends lease, she is happy at the time that Max comes to her aide. Well, that is until he offers her a deal for not ratting her out. She calls it blackmail, though he is good looking. He needs a fake girlfriend for Christmas. Her first response is what is wrong with you, do you have halitosis or some other wired disease. When he assures him does not she agrees. What he does not expect is what is going to happen to his life with this woman who actually gets him to try the coffee from a cart in central park. That is just one of many changes that scare Max, but will it be enough for him to finally see another person for who they are. This is a fun and fast-paced story with very good characters. I really liked both of the lead characters a lot and the author did a great job playing them together. A wonderful story. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars.
