LET'S WELCOME M. ROBINSON AUTHOR OF: FORBID ME

LET’S
WELCOME
M. ROBINSON

AUTHOR OF:

Rad-Reader:  What made you want to tell this story?

M: I got sideswiped with the inspiration for The Good Ol'Boys when I traveled to Oak Island for my husband's family reunion.  I walked into the restaurant that I actually used in the books as Alex's parent's restaurant and they were playing Stand By Me and Boom, Lucas and Alex were born!

Rad-Reader:  Where did the idea for the story come from?

M: At first, it was only going to be Lucas and Alex and once I started writing Complicate Me all the other boys came into play.  I was maybe a few chapters into it when I decided all the boys would get books.

Rad-Reader:  How did you go about creating the characters Lillian and Jacob or did they create themselves as they say?

M: They definitely created themselves.

Rad-Reader:  Why did Dylan bring up the whole crush in the first place?  What tipped him off?

M: When he saw Jacob and Lily on the couch after she made him breakfast.

Rad-Reader:  Did Dylan break up because going to college away from home?

M: No

Rad-Reader:  What happened that Jacob picked the boys over Lillian?

M: She was still young, and he wanted to stay true to his boys.

Rad-Reader:  What exactly is Austin so angry about?  He seems to be mad at the group as a whole.

M: You will know if you read Complicate Me!

Rad-Reader:  Dylan is angry too but a more self-destructive way, why?

M: I feel like all my heroes are angry at some point in time.

Rad-Reader:  By their visit to California Audrey seems to still care for Dylan but he is angry about her breaking it off.  Does she regret it?

M: She's punishing herself so yes she definitely regrets it.

Rad-Reader:  It’s interesting at 36% at sixteen the two had sealed them well before that when she was sixteen on her birthday.  Liked each other.  Yet, at 36% only kissing involved but you could feel their love and you knew the dilemma Jacob had got into.  So, why the hotel?

M: So, they could some time together.

Rad-Reader:  She says Lucas has a kid by who?  Am I missing something?  He didn’t go on the trip but I didn’t know because of a kid.

M: You find out Lucas had a kid in his book Complicate Me.

Rad-Reader:  What is with his alpha male crap?  He acts more like a father or brother which was fine.  I'm sure at sixteen and naïve but living on her own and not seeing him in years takes moxie for him to be so cocky where does he get off?

M: That's his personality

Rad-Reader: If you read the book tell us what you think?

Rad-Reader:  She says she loved him numerous times he never said it back now that he wants it said she has too.  Why?

M: It was the way the storyline played out.

Rad-Reader:  Who was the most shocking approval as you are writing?  Because if you're like me and in the zone sometimes the writing is a total surprise even to me until I’m done.

M: It definitely is.

Rad-Reader:  Was Lucas’s reaction uncalled for or typical?

M: It was typical.  He wants to protect his baby sister.

Rad-Reader:  What song or songs best describes your book or characters?

“Hands On You – Ashley Monroe”

As long as Lily could remember she has been in love with one of her brother’s three best friends.  The problem he’s seven years older than she is.  When her mom is close to the end at fifteen, she needs his comfort when he comes to look for her and no one can find her.  That one kiss she lays on him kept him away from her for a long time.  But not out of his mind too.

“Forever and a Night – Little Big Town and  Caught Out in the Rain – Beth Hart

He couldn’t fully turn Lily away and he knew how crazy and wrong it was to encourage her.  Yet, he found he was in love with her too.  So, he was willing to wait for her. Could she believe him?  Would she understand when he ghosts her for both their own goods and safety?

&

“Damn Your Eyes – Luce Dufault”

When Jacob ghost Lily for three years after he said she was his, and he would never leave her again.  But when it falls through, and he comes to her again well after she’s in her twenties, she’s not happy.  She doesn’t need or want him.

“Put the Hurt on Me – Midland”

He was leaving he was her own personal bad penny.  She did everything to get him to leave or her too.  But he stayed.  He just said, “I’ll take it whatever you got.  I’m sorry.”

M: I listened to a lot of old school 90s hits when I was writing Forbid Me.

Rad-Reader:  If you could be a superhero who would you be? And Why?

M: I would be able to teleport from one place to another.  I don't think there is an actual superhero who can do that.

Rad-Reader:  What is your favorite type of music?  Do you think music influences feelings?

M: I love all kinds of music.  It very much influences my feelings. Music is always playing when I'm writing.

Rad-Reader:  Is there a genre you would like to try but haven’t tried to write yet?

M: Yes, Historical Romance

Rad-Reader:  Your favorite type of dessert?

M: Anything Chocolate.

Rad-Reader:  What is your next project and when will it be coming out?

M: From the First Verse releases March 24.
