Every Little Piece of Me (Orchid Valley #1)

EVERY LITTLE PIECE OF ME                       LEXI RYAN

The first time I saw Brinley Knox, she was crying and heartbroken at her own sweet sixteen party. The daughter of the wealthiest family in Orchid Valley, she was off limits to someone like me—the teenage charity case, the hired help.

But that didn’t stop me from kissing her. Or from promising if she were ever mine, I’d never let her go.

The last time I saw Brinley Knox, I made good on that promise. Forget that it was the first time we’d seen each other in ten years, or that we were drunk in Vegas when we said I do. I meant every word, every touch, every promise.

The problem? When I came back to the hotel, she was gone—the ring I slipped on her finger and the note she left behind the only reminders she had been there. Well, those and the hole she left in my chest in place of my heart.

We haven’t spoken in the six months since, and I’m not the kind of guy who’d file for a divorce he doesn’t want.

But when I get the invitation to her wedding to another man, it’s time to return to Orchid Valley and remind the bride-to-be that I’m a man who keeps his promises.

PAT'S REVIEW

A story that starts when they are teenagers. Marston moves to her home town because he is in trouble and his aunt takes him in. he begins working for Brinley’s family. The two meets at her sixteenth birthday and for the most part are together until she sends him away because of her parents and another reason. Now years later Marston is very successful along with his partner and he and Brinley meet in Vegas by chance? They spend a night talking and clubbing, in the morning when she wakes, she has a ring on her left finger. She leaves the ring and bails.
Months later Marston receives an invitation to his wife’s wedding, yes Brinley is marrying someone else. So, he does what every husband does and goes to her to remind her that she already has a husband. If only the story would be that easy. It is not. She is still being controlled by her father, now her fiancĂ©, and the two of them are each a piece of work. At times I felt that the only person she took her anger out on was Marston and I felt he did nothing to her. She felt like he was the one that put her in all of the situations that she herself created and was dealing with from the time that she kicked him out of her life. Yet she still knew he would be in Vegas that weekend and looked for him and the reason would be? You figure it out when reading it. The author has going back to the past and then back to the present which added to the story. It took Marston to finally get angry at everything because he truly just loved her, her and he tried to get her to see that when he walked it was now her turn to fight or let him go. See what happens in the end, a very good book with good characters. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at
