The Awakening by Lorhainne Eckhart  Can a sexy rancher give a young woman hope?

MY REVIEW:

Wow, this short story had it all going on. Someone to feel sorry for, someone to hate, people to cheer for, those you "boo", those you feel you love, others you could fall in love with. But, for sure you will be sad because it does happen like this in the real world. But, glad to know that there are heroes like in this story that can make it right part of the time. To give you your HEA at Christmas this story does.

Magic at Macy's

MAGIC AT MACY'S                              LIV MORRIS
Posted:  Nov. 13, 2013

Magic at Macy's by Liv Morris  Yale University freshman Ally Brown is spending her first Thanksgiving away from home. Feeling alone and restless in a deserted dormitory, she sets off on an adventure to tour the amazing holiday window displays along New York City's Fifth Avenue.

But her plans get sidetracked as she switches from tourist to stalker after spotting her crush, Jack Prescott, who is taking the same train into the city. He's the handsome Editor in Chief of the Yale Daily News and the man of her dreams—if only she could work up the courage to speak to him.

Certain that it would take a miracle for Jack to notice her, Ally experiences her own "Miracle on 34th Street" when things take an surprisingly romantic turn, thanks to a little Magic at Macy's.

MY REVIEW:

What a fun way to start the holiday season off with this sweet romantic short story. Sorry folks no sex scenes but all the stuff of a "ah ha" moment. A romantic story of when you just know that when you found the one & all those butterflies mean something. Having it around the holidays makes it better.

Santa Wore Combat Boots

SANTA WORE COMBAT BOOTS           BARBARA WITEK
Posted: Nov. 13, 2013

Santa Wore Combat Boots by Barbara Witek  Emma Turner feels like her life ended with the death of her husband. Three years later she’s doing the best she can for her children and moving through life on autopilot. She doesn’t believe true love can happen twice in a lifetime. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t believe in much anymore. Putting her trust in one honest man might be just what she needs to move forward.

Bound by duty Jake Nicklaus never imagined he’d cross the line and fall in love with the woman he swore he’d watch over. If only he’d died on that chopper instead of her husband, she wouldn’t be hurting. The only way to heal her heart is to show her how to live again. Finding the magic in Christmas is the perfect way to start.  Will one kiss under the mistletoe change their lives forever?

MY REVIEW:

I am so glad I read this book. It is so easy to get into self. That we forget about those we love especially when times are hard, like for this mother of two whose husband died in service. This may be for some an overly dramatic depiction of how God helps us but never the less this is a way I loved. The characters were all so sweet. Jake & Sarah were my favorite. WOW!

When one finds out their ill. Starts to look at life & those around them differently. Not knowing each other has had a secret crush on one another for years. Add two orphaned twin girls & wow can a lot happen. Very good book.

DOWN WITH LOVE

DOWN WITH LOVE                                 JAYNE DENKER
Posted: Nov. 13, 2013

Down on Love by Jayne Denker  When it comes to love, she's a professional skeptic. Is it too late for a career change?

If there's one thing Georgiana Down is an expert in, it's bad relationships. That's what inspired her blog, Down on Love, where she gives snarky advice--usually along the lines of "dump him." In fact, George is abstaining from men all together. At least that's the plan--until she makes a trip back to her tiny hometown in the Catskills, where meddling is an art form. . .

George loves helping out with her new baby niece, but she's counting the days until she returns to Boston. Then she runs into Casey Bowen, her high school crush. The boy she once loved is now a handsome grown man--and suddenly George needs a little advice of her own. She's in the right place, because when she drunk posts on her blog, everyone in Marsden has something to say about George and Casey. It's like high school all over again--but maybe this time she'll get things right. . .

MY REVIEW:

It had been almost a decade and a half at least since Georgiana Down had been home to Marsden.  One day out of the blue Sera (her sister) calls her in Boston where she is now living.  She is asking her to come home to Marsden to care for her niece Amelia (who she has never met) and to help with Sera’s wife Jaz who hurt her back at work.  Sera needs to work at making her pottery and can’t do it with a baby under foot and her wife to care for.

George’s first reaction is to say, “NO!”  If she goes back she is sure she will never get out once they suck the life out of her and she is trapped there.  Then she will never get away.  This is visit sucked her in and the one person she really wanted to avoid since she felt nothing but embarrassment was, Casey Bowen, she runs right into within hours of being home.
You see when she was young she lusted after Casey, dreamed of Casey, and loved Casey.  Even now after all her time away in the Big City of Boston and having gone through several failed relationships, the last one making her mildly famous.  In fact it helped her keep almost afloat monthly.  You could say you see the last failed relationship with Thom (to be mean she would say the “h” when saying it.)  She exacted her revenge on his abusive ways how you ask by writing in her blog.  Come on a roller coaster of a story as two people find each other again after just a taste of what it means to be one then two and now one again.  You will not regret it. THE HOLLY & THE IVY

A Frost Family Christmas (Book Three)

by

Brenda M. Collins

Relationships don’t come with a rulebook . . .

Police Officer Joey Frost has her hands full this Christmas in Carol Falls, Vermont. A vandal is painting the town red, green and every color in between, plus someone left baby Holly in the manger of the town’s Nativity display and no one has a clue where her mother is. But Joey can handle it all . . . until a snow storm blows former military cop, Noel “Fletch” Fletcher, back to town.

Joey and Fletch have a history. But he’s no longer the cute boy who kissed–and–dismissed her in high school. He’s grown into a dangerously attractive man—who also nabbed the promotion Joey was gunning for.

When the Police Chief assigns them to be partners, Fletch’s by-the-book law enforcement style is almost as irritating as the resurfacing of their old attraction. Is Fletch trying to distract her from her career aspirations? Or is true love going to be her surprise Christmas gift this year?
