THE BILLIONAIRE'S SECRET HEART (Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires #1)

THE BILLIONAIRE'S SECRET HEART          IVY LAYNE

It was the worst blind date in the history of the universe until Holden Winters swept in and rescued me.
Are you kidding? Holden Winters?
A scion of the notorious Winters family, Holden is gorgeous, wealthy, and brilliant. He dates socialites and pop stars, not computer science grad students more comfortable in a hoodie than couture.
Our night together was a fantasy…and a huge mistake.

Holden:
I don't usually steal other guy's dates. I don't have to. A look is all it takes, and the women fall over themselves to get to me. Then I saw Josephine, sitting with her dweeb of a date, just waiting for a man who could appreciate her lush curves and sharp brain. When she ghosted on me, I shouldn't have been so shocked, but women never walk away from me. Josephine thought she could call the shots - she didn't realize that a Winters man always gets what he wants. And I wanted her.

The Billionaire’s Secret Heart is a standalone romance with a happy ending. It’s the first in the Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires series and introduces the notorious men of the Winters family. You can read it on its own, but you might want to read the others once you get a taste of the Winters men.

MY REVIEW:

This is such a sweet love story of two people from the most unlikely backgrounds.  Who meet and have an instant connection.  No one can make heads or tails out of when they will meet, their one, they just seem to innately know it.
Sometimes it is a smooth transition and sometimes it’s not.  For Josephine Miller and Holden Winters, there were a few glitches.  Well, they were not even meant to meet.  Because Jo was on a date with another guy.  Or as Holden called him a dweeb.
You see Jo’s has a school adviser who set her up with her nephew, she really couldn’t just say no.  So, not normally a dress up kind of girl she was in a dress that her roommate, Emily picked out from Emily’s own closet.  What was not expected was that dweeb expected her to travel on his ten-speed handlebars circa his 1985 bike to get to the restaurant.  Not happening.
It only got worse from there.  He did, however, mention having a golden coin to the hottest nightclub around and you had to have this gold coin to get in.  Now, dweeb dressed like a poor professor so I know he did not have bank enough to buy in.  So, he tells me he fixed a student’s paper that he was tutoring.
Since it not only got them in it also got them to the third floor of the club which is VIP, she was in.  So, they walk over instead of driving since she knew she would want to drink to get over having to be there with the dweeb.  Once there and seated on the third floor and he tried to order me a low-fat drink all bets were off as to how long I would stay sitting with him.
So, distract him I asked about his dissertation because I knew he would start talking non-stop for at least a good thirty to forty minutes.  Giving her time to look around the club to see how the other half lived.  When right beside her one of the most gorgeous men she has ever seen, Holden Winters, who starts to chat her up.  Did I mention she has no clue he’s a billionaire?  Well, she doesn’t.
School always keeps her tied up.  What surprises her is his asking is, what she is doing the dweeb.  She says he is a very blind date.  He says then, “Thank goodness.”  Do you want to dump him and get out of here?  When she turns to her side dweeb, he hadn’t even noticed she was even talking to another man.
Holden stands to hold out his hand and says, “Let’s go.”  She looks at dweeb, he asks, “What do you think you’re doing?  You can’t take my date.”  Holden looks at Jo bends down and gives her a pantie wetting kiss.
See if this is a “Hit and Quit” or a “One and Done.”  When morning comes will there be a walk of shame and if so, who will be the one making it?  Will, there be a repeat performance or will they want more?

I really enjoyed the characters and the flip of the fact that it was the guy this time that was more insecure with the fact he had been rejected.  How we got to see it from his POV.  I really enjoyed how Emily went from meek and mild to roaring for her friend in need forgetting her phobia for her.  I give this: 4 stars.  Free from Amazon.  Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
