The man who invented Instant Replay passed away.  His name was Tony Verna.  It was during an Army-Navy Game in 1963, which had Roger Staubach quarterback for Navy & Heisman Trophy winner.
He said in an interview some years later that it took 30 attempts with the machinery that they back then before they got what he wanted & that he had only 10 seconds before the next play.  By the following season the NFL was using Instant Replay officials and all stated by Tony Verna, “Son of Italian Immigrants Invented Instant Replay.”

  1. Lindsey Vonn last weekend became the womens overall leader in wins on the World Cup with her 63 victory passing Annemarie Mosier-Proll of Austria. Male skier Inger Stenmarker of Sweden has more with 86. This year has been good for her since she has come back from two major knee surgeries, having two myself not as serious as her surgeries but still to come back from both and now win races at that high of a level, hats off to her! and to the record more victories to come !

  2. Well being a Packer fan sucked last Sunday and as much as it pains me the Seahawks played a full 60 min and somewhere the Packers only played 55 min and then 40 sec when Rogers got them into field goal range to send the game into OT. the big play for me and i know every fan has more than one, is the on side kick. all year Bostick has made that block and Nelson gets the ball. This time he does not block and goes for the ball and the next thing the game is gone. For me when i played of High school but also in law enforcement my job, we each have a job, to go in you know where everyone is going to be and if someone changes after months, years of doing it the same way some gets hurt or dies. this was a game and he blocked disgusting as a life long Packer of 50 years. Done i don't care you wins the Super Bowl i already watched it and my TEAM lost.
