JUST GIVE ME A REASON

JUST GIVE ME A REASON                     REBECCA ROGERS MAHER

Tony Lopez is losing it. Burdened by a broken marriage and a failing business, the divorced father of two young daughters isn’t on his A game when he meets Beth. She’s clearly pregnant and defiantly single: a beautiful, graceful vision that lights a fire somewhere deep beneath Tony’s layers of self-doubt. They connect at his brother’s upstate New York home during a weekend among friends. Except friends don’t feel this kind of chemistry—or want each other so bad it hurts.

Beth Cody has no use for ties that bind. She’s witnessed that kind of wrecking ball. The father of her child isn’t in the picture, and she couldn’t be happier. So when Tony sends her already raging hormones off the chart with his rugged good looks and pent-up sexuality, Beth is thrilled to indulge in a short-term affair, with no strings attached. But one taste isn’t enough. And now that she’s out of her comfort zone, Beth either needs to let go or take a chance on a man who might just be worthy of her love.

MY REVIEW:
Beth Cody set her course a long time ago.  Marriage was not for her.  She saw how her parent’s marriage broke her mom because of promises made that were never fulfilled so why even go there.  So every time things start getting to heavy more than a sex thing it was time to move on.
Then one sex thing left a little present.  So at 33 she finds herself pregnant.  Which is fine she had always planned on being as single parent it just came a few years earlier than planned.  She got the father to sign off his rights but with options to visit one day.  Yet, being 25ish don’t see that happening and in France.  All good.
Between her and her best friend Holly and her son Drew they would raise this baby. Then Holly meets and falls in love with Ray.  They win the lotto not once but twice.  Go figure.  So she was feeling at odds a little but her sexual hormones were on high alert.  Now a few months ago she had met Ray’s brother Tony Lopez.  He was sexier than all hell but at dinner she couldn’t get him to engage.  But boy did she see him in her dreams and were they hot.
The funny thing is Tony had the same thing happening every night in his dreams too.  The reason she couldn’t get him to engage was he was feeling guilty because for the first time in his life he had that animalistic urge to “do” Beth right there at the table no matter who was watching.  Not knowing she felt the same way.  Then came a unplanned week where Tony was taking care of Holly and Ray’s place and Beth’s place lost electricity due to a storm so she had to go to Holly’s.  Well, they had to confront their emotions or burst.

See how this couple moves this weekend along.  This is erotica at its sexy best.  The only problem I had is it felt like the ending was incomplete or rushed not sure which.  So for that I have to give it 4 stars.  Provided by netgalley.com.  Follow us at:  www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
