MY REVIEW:
This is a sweet college love story when
you stand back and look at all the things individually. Yes, you can predict it coming but while
reading, no this author has a nice easy flow to her writing voice. Which transitions well between situations and
characters. So, well that I just got
this story free on Amazon but wanted to finish off the romance with the novella
she wrote that, ME, I bought it.
This is about Cassie the younger sister to
Scotty River who plays hockey at the college Cassie just transferred into to
escape her abusive ex. Who happens, to be
a friend and (hockey player also) with her brother. Although, not wanting to rock the boat and
upset her big brother whom she looks up to she says nothing.
In her head to make the move right she
comes under the guise of she wants to spend more time with her big brother
before he graduates since he’s a senior and has already signed on to go pro
with a Detroit team. What a mistake she
makes almost to the end Scotty is a prick.
He spends all his time doing and being with his girlfriend or team.
Despite the first day, she wakes up in
the arms of Brantley a teammate of her brother.
Not knowing that “B” was coming home three days early he put Cassie in “B’s”
bed. Surprise! From that morning on, she wanted him. He wants her too but…Scotty laid down the Bro
Code, so B said it was not happening.
The angst that goes on as they try to work
out the non-relationship-only-friendship is at times pretty funny. At other times tense. There are times of reality of what college
life has become and it’s scary. Especially,
with my own college freshman.
You will be reading about some verbal
abuse, physical abuse, there is sex for days (hello college), and humor. You will also see in this couple although
they don’t see it right away, they are a loving committed and loyal friendship.
