RISKY PLAY

RISKY PLAY                                        RACHEL VAN DYKEN

What else can a virgin do when she’s ditched at the altar? Seattle heiress Mackenzie Dupont is treating herself to a single-girl honeymoon in Mexico and a desire to relinquish her innocence to a gorgeous one-night stand. Fake names. True pleasure. But when she wakes up alone, Mackenzie realizes just how much anger is left in her broken heart.

Suffering a tragic personal loss, pro soccer player Slade Rodriguez has his reasons for vanishing without a goodbye. Right or wrong, he’s blaming the beautiful and infuriating stranger he never wants to see again. They’re both in for a shock when Mackenzie shows up as his new personal assistant. And they both have a lot to learn about each other. Because they share more than they could possibly know, including a common enemy who’s playing his own games. And he’s not afraid to get dirty.

Now there’s only one way Mackenzie and Slade can win: to trust in each other and to stop hiding from the lies they’ve told, the secrets they’ve kept, the mistakes they’ve made, and the attraction that still burns between them.

My Review:
Reading Risky Play was such a fun book one of the ones you where you go “Over Already?!”
This story opens with Mackenzie Dupont better known as Mack, getting left at the altar by her childhood friend/best friend, Alton.  She is devastated.  Making it hard to go to work at the family-owned winery where she is a sommelier.  Where her father refused to let go of Alton.
So, she goes on the honeymoon she had planned for six months down the line alone.  When she is on the plane, she is seated next to this sexy man with a Spanish accent.  When they are close to landing, they lose an engine and panic ensues.  She thinks they're going to crash into Puerto Vallarta.  The next thing you know she kisses Slade Rodriquez.  Infamous soccer.
She has no clue being an heiress Fame is blasé and after all the press surrounding the jilted wedding, she has no clue or cares what he does or earns.  When they are together for one bewitching night and puff, he was gone.  The man she only knows as Hugo to her Ashley—Yup!  Fake names.  Once again left by a man.
Slade arrives in Seattle where his new team is here in the states.  That late call with the tragedy that changed him forever he could only blame Ashley who had distracted him.  But when his friend and manager hire a PA for him, he is not happy, but practice would be starting, and his life is a mess.
The next morning when Mack is at his door, he is angry, rude, and he can’t help the attraction.  Making him more pissed.  At the same, she calms him.  It is funny when they figure out, they both used false names.  Even funnier down the line how he names.  Even funnier down the line how he finds out who she really is and he bloodline.

I loved all the conflict and off the cuff statements leading to new situations.  Matt was a hoot.  Jagger turned out to be great.  So, happy about Alton just saying loved this book.  I give this: 5++++ stars.  Provided by netgalley.com.  Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
