And if he does, it will mean living without the woman who owns his heart.

PAT'S REVIEW

This book is about the journalist Victoria Gomez who was talked about in the other books. In this one, it begins with her and her family celebrating the publication of her article. Then after a few moments, her life is forever changed when the cartel comes in and kidnaps her but not before she sees what happens to her family. It is weeks before the Fast bravo team can find her and rescue her but the damage has been done to her and on the night of her rescue, she clings to the man who rescued her, Brock Hamilton. He is the team leader and though he wants to be with his team he knows that by the way, she will not let go of him that he must stay with her on the helicopter to the hospital. Now months later he has grown to like her strength, courage, perseverance, to fight back. They realize that their bound has grown into something more but neither speaks to the other one about it. Afraid that the feelings shared will scare the other one. These feelings, emotions, are all put to the test when Brock himself is taken prisoner by the same cartel while protecting witnesses against it. Now knowing what he will be going through Victoria decides to fight back for the one person left in her life that is still alive. Watch out drug cartel. A very good story to go along with the other books in the series. I really liked these two characters. I gave this book 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

He lost her once. He can’t lose her now. This time, failure is not an option.

PAT'S REVIEW

The next book in the DEA fast series has U.S. Assistant Attorney Rowan Stewart being assigned her most important case of her career. The problem she has when she walks in is that the man she has to work with part of the time is the man she walked away from. Special Agent Malcolm Freeman was not pressuring her for anything, she was pressuring herself and because of that she got up one morning and told him she cannot do this anymore and broke it off, afraid that he would want more, or she would want more. Always following her father’s footsteps she now finds herself right back where she started. Looking at the man she is still in love with but wanting the job and the promotion that goes with it. When the daughter of the drug cartel walks in and says she is turning herself in and will help as much as she can no one believes her. For weeks it goes that way until her mother is killed, they find the tracking device that her father had put into her how, and then Stewart’s car is blown up but her brother is the one how is hurt not her. She begins to look more and more at her life again and again and what she walked away from, or the possibility of. Love, children, and being with someone that cares for you. What will she do especially when Malcolm tells her he loves her and does not understand why she left? A very good story with many storylines and just when you think you are getting close to capturing the scorpion, not. A good book to go along with the series. PAT'S REVIEW

An interesting book that is full of exciting and fast-paced action from the beginning. This story has love, suspense, action, and a little of hope. Gia is looking for a way out of the situation she is in at the moment. A daughter of a hit-man she is now stuck with a man who runs the Irish mob, and she is looking for a way out before maybe he does something to her like marriage. She is able to get a note to Cade Callaghan who at the moment does not know who she is. She wants out of the club and away from there and safe. He decides to help her and from there the book takes off for quite a few twist and turns. The author keeps you going as they run form one person to the next while he still does not know who she really is. Getting deeper into the story you find out more of their pasts and how this actually will help in the end. A very good story and I liked how the author would keep you guessing from one page to the next. Very much worth the read. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. The Rancher's Secret Son (Montana Merricks #2)

THE RANCHER'S SECRET SON                  BARARA DUNLOP

Rancher Eli Merrick has discovered a secret. It’s a sixteen-year-old secret, one with Merrick eyes, a Merrick chin and a stubborn Merrick attitude.

Piper Beauregard knows that she was wrong to keep Tristen from his father. But her son had the power to hurt the Merrick brothers and split their family apart forever.

Now the secret is out, and Eli is angrier than she could have imagined. After claiming his son, Eli takes him straight to Marietta, Montana to raise him on the old Douglas Ranch. Guilt-ridden at keeping the two apart, Piper knows she has to follow them. She’s still drawn to Eli's protectiveness, even after so many years, but will he ever be able to look past their history?

PAT'S REVIEW

In this book, Piper Beauregard has kept a secret from her friends as to how the father of her 16-year-old son is. This all comes to a head though when she moves back to a place where she grew up for a while to open up a new business. When the Merrick brothers come to help move one of the other ones they notice a boy outside the home and at first thinking it was Lucas being the father who was dating Piper at the time it turns out Eli is the father. Lucas who had been dating her broke up with her the night of the prom and Eli driving on the road found her walking. One thing led to another because he had always liked her and there you have it. Now 16 years later he is pissed which I get but he begins to order the boy around and tells her he is taken him to another town. I don’t know about you but at 16 I had problems doing what my own father wanted me to do let alone some man I had never seen before so it would have been a cold day before I went and what mother is going to say okay. Feeling guilty she agrees and goes with them, but Eli for the first part of the book acts like a jerk. He then starts to come around when Piper starts to stand up for herself when Eli thinks she still likes Lucas, hello he dumped her you jerk, and if you really liked her so much why didn’t you find out where her family moved to and go find her? Now 16 years later you want to act all butthurt while she was raising a child. Not a bad story just had issues here and there. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 3 stars. PAT'S REVIEW

This book opens with Lexie Kosta who is the town Librarian getting caught reading a sexy romance novel, maybe steamy. The man catching her is Joe Van Der Meer, later when one of her pipes burst in the home that she is renovating when she calls for a plumber he is the one who shows up. The story goes on with him helping her with fixing her pipes and of course later they work on some of the storylines from the books she has read. Though it makes for a nice story I did not find all of the scenes to be a totally BDSM like other books that I have read. I did find some of the scenes of her and of them swimming to be some of the better ones from this book as for the way the author describes them they had more of a natural flow to them. Overall not a bad story has some nice characters in it as well. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 3 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com (less)

PAT'S REVIEW

I think most readers know how this book will end, but the point is the way the author takes you on the journey to the end. Brit Robbins knows dating is hard and especially in New York City, she thought she would have it figured out by age thirty, not. She decides to ask the one person who she figures will give her honest tips, and pointers to help her. That person is Hunter Cross. They are best friends and have gone out on fake dates, and even at times meet the other one's dates. When he agrees to help he becomes blown away the night he is at her place when she gives him a fashion show of her outfits, and it is there that he begins to see her the real her. When she begins to go out on a few dates he becomes obsessed with the idea that he will be losing her, and when one night he shows up at her place unannounced he begins the transformation of a man wanting to be with a woman and now having to find the way to let her know. The author takes you on a nice journey with good characters along the way. A very good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us atwww.1rad-readerreviews.com

Beautiful Wreck (Rock 'n' Ink #3)

BEAUTIFUL WRECK                                     KASEY LANE

For savvy programmer Gabrielle Alvarez, moving to Portland, Oregon means a fresh start with a blank screen. She wants nothing more than to erase the last traces of her old life, starting with an exotic tattoo to hide an old scar. Gabby’s instantly drawn to the enigmatic artist, who also happens to be her neighbor. Lucky she has no plans to date-especially sexy, brooding men.

Last year, Bowen Landry was the king of broken promises. He made hundreds to his sister to get clean and hundreds more to his band and his boss. But Bowen’s sober now and determined to stay that way. The last thing he needs are complications, especially Gabby with her curves, dry humor, and independent spirit. Gabby spells danger to Bowen’s peace of mind, not to mention his personal promise to stay celibate for one year.

Bowen is content keeping a firewall up between them until a stalker threatens Gabby’s safety. Alone in a new city, she has no choice but to turn to Bowen for help, moving into his apartment after hers is vandalized. While the two grow closer, Bowen can’t make any promises, and Gabby’s not asking. While the inexperienced Gabby can’t deny the charming, reformed bad boy, she’s unsure she can ever trust an addict again. If Bowen can help Gabby forgive her past and his, he may learn to believe in love again.

PAT'S REVIEW

I liked this book right from the beginning. Bowen wanting to get to know Gabrielle when he sees her at the wedding. Both are trying to put the past behind them and as much as they try the past still comes to the front. Bowen wants to get to know her but only as a friend. Just getting sober he does not think he could handle a relationship of any kind right now. He is though drawn to her curves and the way she handles herself. When she goes to him for a tattoo and the scares revel something from her past she will not open up about what happened. Even after he takes her in after her place is destroyed and the two of them become closer, you as the reader feel a shift between the characters and as the story becomes more intense Bowen just sits there as she pours her heart out to him and lets her walk out. You as the reader are taken to a whole other level with Gabrielle’s character and this last part of the book only adds to a wonderful story. Read this very good book with good characters. Billionaire Cowboy's Conquest

BILLIONAIRE COWBOY'S QUEST              MARIE TUHART

Sidelined from his rodeo career by an injury, billionaire Texas rancher Hunter Knight returns to home to find the staff overworked and the office a mess. He hates paperwork, so he's pleased to hear his sister has hired an office manager. But when he finds out it's Jessica Sinclair, his sister's party-girl best friend from college, he's not happy and wants her fired. Even worse than her partying past, he's attracted to her. Burned once by his gold-digging, city woman of an ex-wife, he has no interest in playing with fire.

Dogged by a past that won't let her go, Jessica arrives at the ranch with a plan: excel as an office manager, stay away from the bulls, and no cowboys. Her father died when thrown from a bull when she was a kid, so avoiding them is key. Cowboys, well, they're just as dangerous as the bulls. Then there's Hunter Knight, part owner of the Double K ranch. This stubborn cowboy can ruin everything by sending her away before she can earn a single penny. Buying time with a proposal solves one problem but leads her straight into riskier territory, fighting an attraction to the bull-riding billionaire boss.

Can this city girl and cowboy survive the wildest ride of their lives?

PAT'S REVIEW

I must say I was not pleased with the character Hunter Knight. He was nowhere anything in the definition of a cowboy or a man. When he finds out that his sister hired her former college roommate Jessica Sinclair. All he can remember is that she was a party girl. Of course, that was years ago but he cannot let it go just like he can’t let go of the idea that every woman who comes from the city is after his money like his first wife was. That was ten years ago, but he still has not let that go, so he rides Jessica with demeaning insults after he hires her and then begins to tell her what she can and cannot wear. This is where I still kept reading but really disliked the character because as a father of three girls, now women I am tired of fighting schools and other entities on what girls, women can and cannot wear when there is no restriction on males. Sorry, that being said he remains a jerk for most of the book and when he does start becoming human he has one more melt which leads her to flee the ranch. This is a good thing because she is able with the help of a woman to take care of a problem from her past and the person who created it. Also, he cannot find her even as he tries, she is still working on fixing her, and he realizes his mistake when he notices that the money he paid her is still on his desk. Now he must do something. The ending of the book helps all of the middles by giving her, her power back and is really the only saving grace. I received this book from Netgally.com I gave it 3 stars. Then again, someone to lean on may be exactly what they each need - if they're only brave enough to take the risk.

PAT'S REVIEW

I found this book a little harder to get into for some reason. I did Sadie and the way her character was for the most part throughout the book. I also understood that there needed to be some of the stories about their father and ALS. I just felt that her sister’s and also her brother wined a lot and for him to be a hockey player he seemed to be complaining the most. Maybe that part is just me but that is what I got. It also took me a while to get into the whole Sullivan character who was a coach, but there were no scenes of him actually coaching. There even was not any hockey scenes only talk about them. There were some hospital and him dealing with his ex. I did like his daughter and her character helped move the story along, but for me, it just did have it this time. I have given the first two books in the series 5 stars but I can only give this book 3 stars this time sorry. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 3 stars. PAT'S REVIEW

This does happen because Becca’s cousins find them and proceed to bet up the guy she is with Hale Wilder. After some of Hale’s friends show up it becomes a matter of words and her father then arrives and she tells Hale to leave. Her father treats her beyond words and she eventually leaves as well. The story then takes you to ten years later. Both are successful in their fields he is a Wall Street broker, she is a PR person for a pro football. Wanting to help and not believing the charges against him she along with some other friends bring him back to his hometown to sort out the charges, and more importantly their past. It is then when they go back to that night and what happened after he left that they slowly begin to heal. Ain't She a Peach? (Southern Eclectic #2)

AIN'T SHE A PEACH                                     MOLLY HARPER

An Atlanta ex-cop comes to sleepy Lake Sackett, Georgia, seeking peace and quiet—but he hasn’t bargained on falling for Frankie, the cutest coroner he’s ever met.

Frankie McCready talks to dead people. Not like a ghost whisperer or anything—but it seems rude to embalm them and not at least say hello.

Fortunately, at the McCready Family Funeral Home & Bait Shop, Frankie’s eccentricities fit right in. Lake Sackett’s embalmer and county coroner, Frankie’s goth styling and passion for nerd culture mean she’s not your typical Southern girl, but the McCreadys are hardly your typical Southern family. Led by Great-Aunt Tootie, the gambling, boozing, dog-collecting matriarch of the family, everyone looks out for one another—which usually means getting up in everyone else’s business.

Maybe that’s why Frankie is so fascinated by new sheriff Eric Linden...a recent transplant from Atlanta, he sees a homicide in every hunting accident or boat crash, which seems a little paranoid for this sleepy tourist town. What’s he so worried about? And what kind of cop can get a job with the Atlanta PD but can’t stand to look at a dead body?

Frankie has other questions that need answering first—namely, who’s behind the recent break-in attempts at the funeral home, and how can she stop them? This one really does seem like a job for the sheriff—and as Frankie and Eric do their best Scooby-Doo impressions to catch their man, they get closer to spilling some secrets they thought were buried forever.

PAT'S REVIEW

This book has you back at the McCready Family Funeral home and Bait shop. The story mostly centers on Frankie who is the embalmer, make-up artist, and county coroner. It is the last title that she does not use very much and one she is glad she did not. That is until a new sheriff arrived in town and now she has been called out more than she ever has. Working with the new man is frustrating because of his requesting her assistance on every death and then when he shows up in her place of work he criticizes her talking to the dead, her style, at times her attitude, and well you get the point. When Sheriff Eric Linden for another update and the verbal banter begins suddenly the room becomes quite becomes has passed out. When he is back with the living Frankie has proven to him that the case like she had stated before his nape was an accident. Now begins the life of Frankie and her quest to bring down the person who she thinks has been tormenting her and her place of work for the past years, and always refers to her as a freak. The problem is finding evidence of the person doing anything in the act, and getting people to believe that is not related to her. While that is going on her and the Eric are trying to maybe start dating but each one has issues from their past. His is the reason why he left Atlanta and came to a small town, and she is her illness from childhood and still wanting to get out from her parents contest hovering. The story has many layers and will keep you going with the same cast of characters from the last book and with a few and with some surprises. This all leads for a wonderful book once again. Down with Love (Laws of Attraction #1)

DOWN WITH LOVE                                        KATE MEADER

If you ever get married, remember my name: Max Henderson. In my line of work, you acquire a certain perspective on supposedly everlasting unions. . . .

1. Pre-nups are your friend.
2. The person you married is not the person you’re divorcing.
3. And I hope you didn’t spend much on the wedding because that was one helluva waste of hard-earned cash, wasn’t it?

But some guys are willing to take a chance. Like my brother, who thinks he’s going to ride off into the sunset with the woman of his dreams in a haze of glitter on unicorns. And the wedding planner—the green-eyed beauty who makes living convincing suckers to shell out thousands of dollars on centerpieces—is raking it in on this matrimonial monstrosity.

The thing is, Charlie Love is not unlike me. We’re both cogs in the wedding-industrial complex. As the best man, I know her game—and I can play it better than her. But after one scorching, unexpected kiss, I’m thinking I might just want to get played.

PAT'S REVIEW

A really good book from the beginning to the end. Max Henderson is a divorce attorney and one thing he believes in is prenups. Meeting his brother for their weekly met at their watering hole he is surprised to find out that his brother is getting married. He is equally surprised that the women he had been staring at and then flirting with is the wedding planner. Max now becomes involved in every detail of his brother’s wedding because he does not want him to get ripped off by said wedding planner. That is what he begins to tell himself, but what really happens he wants to finds ways to be with her. Now for a man who does not believe in weddings or marriage can he change? Both Max and Charlie are wonderful characters and the banter between them really keep this book moving along. A very good story with good characters all around. Read this book and see what happens. Last Call (The McLaughlins Book 4)

LAST CALL                                                      SHELLI STEVENS

PAT'S REVIEW

Out of all of the books that I have read in this series I found this one to be the toughest to finish. Delonna and Aleck have flirted with each other in the other books so it would seem only natural that they would get together right. Well, it begins with Delonna coming home to find her place torn up and all of her money missing. The only suspect her lousy ex-boyfriend now. Going to Seattle to find him, Aleck, when he hears about this goes to find her. When he does and they make it back to the island he feels he needs to protect her. She fights at first until someone shots up the bar while just the two of them were inside. Now she agrees to stay at his place. After spending time with him and the family she overhears him saying that he does not want a relationship and she comes in later and quits. Now the end of the story picks up because Aleck must decide what he wants to do and if he wants to be with her? I felt like there was so much more this book could have been. They go to Scotland, but after each event when I thought something was going to happen nothing. At least for me. When you get to the end and to the epilogue it makes up for it slightly and only if you read the other books. Guess I was just expecting more. Cinderella Blue (San Antone Two-Step #2)

CINDERELLA BLUE                                      JOAN REEVES

Too bad, because Detective Andrea Luft--Andie to her friends--loves those 3 little words--especially when she's saying them to a "bad guy" who SO deserves it. Like the thief stealing designer wedding gowns from San Antonio bridal boutiques.

Andie is an undercover bride about to make an arrest when Detective Bruce Benton barges onto the scene. The suspect escapes, and, as a reward for this screw-up, Benton and Andie are paired together as partners to close the case.

On the surface, this mismatched duo appears to have only one thing in common: their tendency to annoy each other. Underneath though, desire sizzles. Is it just a matter of time before these two commitment-phobic cops yield to the inevitable?

PAT'S REVIEW

A fun book from the very beginning to the last page. With a strong female lead Detective Andie Luft. She is in the process of nabbing a thief who stealing wedding dresses. When she pulls her weapon from her grater lo and behold Detective Bruce Benton is standing outside on the sidewalk looking first at her legs and back to realizing she must be holding up the store, rushing in and telling her to drop her weapon only begins a yelling match between the two of them and when it ends Andie has put Bruce on the ground, and the talk of his unit, not in a good way. She, of course, lost her suspect and is more than upset. Her anger goes to a new level the next day when she is transferred temporally to his unit and they are to work the case together. Can they even stand to be together let alone work together? Read this fun fast-paced story and see what happens. A good book with good characters also. The Army Ranger's Surprise (The Men of At Ease Ranch #5)

THE ARMY RANGER'S SURPRISE              DONNA MICHALES

Army brat Kaydee Wagner gets twitchy if she stays in one place for too long. But when her grandfather needs someone to stay with him for a bit and his home needs a lot of repairs, she steps up to the plate.

Lucky for her, help arrives from their neighbor’s gorgeous grandson, former Army Ranger Leo Reed.

Leo’s desperate to rise above his dark past and enjoy life again. He’s already made a lot of progress, so when the woman he can’t stop thinking about needs a handyman, he volunteers. But after a very...wet incident involving deadly dance moves and a wayward sink hose, their clothes hit the floor faster than a stack of tile.

He doesn’t want forever—that would mean revealing his past, which he’s not ready to do. She only wants right now, because any other option would require sticking around.

And then Kaydee discovers she’s pregnant.

PAT'S REVIEW

This was a fast and quick read. Leo and Kaydee or dealing with issues from their pasts. His is PTSD and hers is always moving and never being able to make friends because her father was in the Army, and for her, it felt like they moved all the time. Now the two of them meet because each is helping their grandparent. He is helping his grandmother and her, her grandfather. Kaydee feels something for Leo and she knows he feels it too, but now she must go slowly. He offers to help her with some of the repairs that need to be done in her grandfather’s place, and she agrees. Everything is going well until Leo gets scared and panics because of his fears of being close to someone. He leaves, when Kaydee finds out that she is pregnant she now fears to tell him will drive him farther away. What will happen with these two people? This is a wonderful story and the characters in this book are very good. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com
